When I worked a 9 to 5, this was my schedule:

- Wake up at 5:30
- Get ready/drink coffee
- 1-hour commute at 7:30a
- In office from 8:30a to 5:00p
- Go to the gym from 5:00p to 6:00p
- 1-hour commute back home at 6:15p
- Dinner & 2 hours of quality time w/ my wife

But now?
As a Solopreneur, this is my schedule:

- Awake at 6a
- Read for an hour
- Coffee for an hour
- 60 minutes on Twitter
- Hit the gym with my wife
- Write newsletter & content
- Eat lunch together as a family
- Spend about 2 hours more working
- Cook dinner together and drink wine
4-5 hours of family time vs. 8-9 hours of family time.

- No more LA commutes.
- No more dinnertime emails.
- No more "emergency board meetings."
- No more, "You'll have to cancel that vacation."

Life/work balance.

Not the other way around.

Try starting your own.

How to extract $100k from between your ears and sell it:
Identify Your Expertise:

Everybody's an expert in something. What's that one thing you're known for? What do friends constantly ask your advice on?

It could be anything:

- Career tips
- Fitness routines
- Parenting advice
- Financial strategies

This is your starting point.
Market Research:

Who needs your expertise? Understanding your potential customer base is critical.

Ask yourself:

- Who are they?
- What problems do they have?
- How does your expertise solve their problem?

This will help you craft a message that resonates with your audience.

5 types of content that build your following:

1. This person teaches me
2. This person motivates me
3. This person entertains me
4. This person makes me think
5. This person understands me

That's just about it.
Here's a simple checklist:

- Does this share my knowledge & experience?
- Does this story inspire & motivate?
- Does this provoke discourse?
- Is what I wrote relatable?

If the answer to all is "no", it's not likely to be a hit.

The more you get into this habit, the better.
If the answer is yes, your audience will grow fast with the right people.

Take a look around at your favorite creators and you'll realize nearly all of their content fits into this.

Here are 6 excellent examples of big creators doing this well:

How to write a world-class newsletter in 75 minutes:
Store Ideas:

If you want to go faster, you should always be building an idea bank.

Every day I spend 15 minutes going through:

- YouTube channels
- Aggregator newsletters
- Relevant news stories
- Things you've learned

Jot them down and keep a running list.
Gather Information:

Once you've chosen your topic, then do some research to back up your thoughts.

I like to Google and look for:

- One book
- One Tweet
- One quote
- One article

Then, choose 1 or 2 and use them inside of your issue.

How to build Digital Leverage.

Use the 1000x formula:
One of the most powerful concepts is “Digital Leverage.”

It means using the internet to achieve more - with less time, effort, & resources.

You only have 24 hours in a day, and it's especially important to be efficient when you're a team of one.

Here's how:
Content: Think 1x, Publish 10x

The best content starts with a single idea.

I create one robust, long-form piece of content.

Sometimes it’s a newsletter issue, an article, or a Thread.

Then, I chop it up & publish it 10x:

- Twitter
- LinkedIn
- Instagram
- IG Stories Image

Spend 30 minutes per week talking to your customers about their problems.

Spend 30 minutes per day figuring out how to solve them.

Spend 30 minutes per day writing content about it.

The 30-30-30 method for a better business.
If you don't know how to ask your customers questions, try using the L1 to L4 method:

L1: Technical Pain

(This is what you get from most customers)

Example: My team is struggling to do X

Tell me more.
Why has that become a challenge?
Can you provide me with an example?
L2: Historical Pain/Gain

What have you done in the past to try to solve that?

Gotcha. Have any of those things been working?

Why not?

Solopreneurs don't build businesses, they create an extension of their authentic way of living.
Living authentically means spending time in pursuit of:

- Your mission
- Time with family
- Improving yourself
- Helping others grow
- Leaving the world better

Sure, these sound cheesy.

But this is what I hear over and over when I talk to successful people.
If you want to pursue this lifestyle, you need focus.

Focus on the 20% of things that matter, and eliminate, automate, and delegate the 80% that doesn't.

Start by calculating your impact-to-time ratio.

It's the easiest formula that nobody looks at:
