Thomas Gravesen was an absolute nutter.

The ex-Everton man was once described as a "grenade with the pin pulled out".

From porn star girlfriends to dynamite at training, meet Real Madrid's most unlikely Galactico... Image
Our story begins in the early 90s at Danish side Vejle Boldklub, where Gravesen comes through the ranks.

But it doesn't all go to plan.

He's banned for 6 months by his own club for maiming a teammate with a horror tackle in training. ImageImage
He's not the only one Thomas makes an impression on: after 2 successful years, he earns a big move to Hamburg.

Thomas opts to stay in Vejle, commuting 350 miles every day.

He gets there on his motorbike, hurtling down the Autobahn at 160mph wearing flip-flops and shorts. Image
One day, Gravesen announces he's brought his 'special' fireworks into training.

He ropes in a clueless Hamburg teammate to help light them, before sprinting away.

A gigantic explosion blows a crater in the ground, and a cackling Gravesen admits the fireworks were dynamite. Image
After joining Everton in 2000, Gravesen's training ground antics continue.

He regularly gets in wrestling scraps with club staff, and one day he brings in a paintball gun.

After loading up the shooter, Gravesen rampages around the training complex gunning down his teammates. Image
And he still loves explosives.

He uses a broken drainpipe as a rocket launcher, shooting fireworks at the physio.

And he has a firework fight with Wayne Rooney.

"They had big rockets, full of gunpowder” David Moyes said. “They were holding one end and shooting at each other!" ImageImage
Gravesen terrorises his international teammates too.

He stuffs ice cubes down the shorts of Denmark winger Jesper Grønkjær as a prank, causing a brawl to erupt on the eve of the 2002 World Cup.

A year later he dangles his bellend in the face of Claus Jensen. ImageImage
Despite his training ground pranks, Thomas is still Denmark's main man.

His performance in a 6-0 drubbing of Iceland catches the eye of fellow nutjob Mike Tyson.

The boxer asks for his jersey - and wears the sweat-drenched shirt for the duration of a trip to Copenhagen. Image
In 2005, Real Madrid bizarrely make him a Galactico alongside Ronaldo, Figo and Zidane.

Rumours abound that Madrid got him confused with fellow bald Everton hardman Lee Carsley.

Spanish newspaper Marca dub Gravesen 'The Ogre', and welcome him with a mocked up picture of Shrek. ImageImage
Gravesen isn't fazed by the big names at Real.

He barks orders at Zinedine Zidane during matches, and throws his superstar teammates around on the training ground.

In one scrap he somehow manages to knock out one of Ronaldo's teeth. ImageImageImage
Off the pitch, he starts shagging Danish porn-star Kira Eggers.

When teammates ask to see pictures he tells them "just Google her, lad. Loads of pictures on there." Image
After coming to blows with Robinho at training, Gravesen falls out of favour at Real, and joins Celtic.

But he quickly enrages disciplinarian manager Gordon Strachan.

During one team talk Thomas sits with a newspaper held up in front of him with eyes cut out of it. Image
At the end of his first season at Celtic, Gravesen heads home to his parents' house in Denmark.

He spends the entire summer playing Call Of Duty in their gloomy basement gaming dungeon.

And ends up being ranked the number 1 player in the world... Image
After a failed loan back to Everton, Gravesen retires aged just 32.

Four years later, he's tracked down in Las Vegas, with a fortune of $100m from poker and other investments.

But it's not all plain sailing: he allegedly lost over $54 million in a single game of poker. Image

If you think Mario Balotelli has calmed down, think again.

The Italian nutcase spent last season punching club staff, sneaking girls into the team hotel and abusing his own fans.

He's welcomed as a hero by fans.

They even defend him when the local press accuse him of drunkenly staggering out of a nightclub.

Motor racing is a dangerous game at the best of times.

And it doesn't help when you've been boozing for 12 hours straight.

But that's just what Duncan Hamilton did at the Le Mans 24-hour race.

This is the story of Drunken Duncan... Image
Duncan Hamilton was never afraid of death.

The hard-drinking Irishman flew fighter planes in WWII, and then took up an even more dangerous past time: motor racing.

Before the 1953 Le Mans, Ferrari were red hot favourites. But Hamilton's Jaguar team were hopeful of an upset. Image
But in a colossal fuck up, the team sent Hamilton out to practice with the same number as a rival car.

They were immediately disqualified from the race.

Hamilton was determined that wouldn’t ruin his weekend - “To the pub”, he shrugged to his driving partner Tony Rolt. Image

Hostage takers, murderous gangsters and suburban wife-swappers: sport's biggest stars have some absolute headcases for dads.

In honour of Father’s Day, we’ve collected the biggest wrong'uns around.

Meet the maddest dads in sport... Image
Watford legend Troy Deeney recalls his dad picking him up from school in a "borrowed" Mercedes and hearing a banging noise coming from the boot.

"Don’t worry about that," said his father.

"He owes my pal some money so I’ve taken him on a little journey for the day." Image
Similar vibes from West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca's terrifying dad Emiliano.

Last year he broke into Roma's training ground and demanded money, before going on a rampage.

He destroyed several cars, a statue of a wolf, and a beloved bonsai tree. ImageImage

Karim Benzema's life is like a Netflix series.

Sex scandals, blackmail and "big, big, thugs" - no one does drama like him.

As the Balon d'Or winner leaves Real Madrid, this is the scandalous story of Karim Benzema... ImageImage
We begin in 2009, when Karim returns home to Lyon to star in an advert for the new FIFA.

According to staff on set, 2 teenagers heckle Karim, and he invites them backstage.

They're expecting his autograph, but instead Karim's bodyguards hold them down while he pummels them.
He breaks into the French national side aged 20, alongside the likes of Eric Abidal and Thierry Henry.

When the older players tease Benzema in training, he tells them: "Do not laugh, I'm here to take your place."

But he grows closer to the younger players.

Much closer... Image

N'Golo Kante is the most humble man in football.

He drives a banged up old Mini, does his shopping at Asda, and meets up with fans to play FIFA.

As the midfield maestro departs the Premier League, here's the story of football's nicest bloke... ImageImage
Our story begins in the Parisian suburbs, where a teenage Kante stars in the youth team of local side JS Suresnes.

But he's half the size of his teammates...

When he wins a player of the tournament award, the mini midfielder (far left) looks on as his pals hoist his trophy. Image
After being rejected by a string of Ligue 1 clubs, he signs for Boulogne on an amateur contract.

He turns out for the 3rd division side while travelling to training on a kids scooter.

Alongside football, he takes evening classes and qualifies as an accountant. ImageImage

When you unleash the pure chaos of Diego Maradona in the dugout, it's going to be a wild ride.

As a manager, Diego ran over reporters, abused everyone around him and snuck in a sly bit of nose powder in the dugout too.

Meet Maradona the manager... Image
Diego's stormy second act begins when he fails a drugs test at the 1994 World Cup.

He takes the reins at Deportivo Mandiyu but lasts just 12 games (and 1 win) before his huge salary bankrupts the club.

But it doesn't stop Argentine giants Racing Club hiring him in 1995... Image
After Racing take the lead in his first match, Diego calmly turns to the opposition fans and gives them two middle fingers.

And things are about to get much, much worse.

From cocaine in the dugout to punching reporters, this is the story of what happened next...
