🧵DANIEL CROWLEY - #Notts

Luke Williams’ latest recruit is attacking midfielder Crowley

He’s especially interesting as he’s spent much of his career in the Netherlands

Here is a thread on the new man, and what we can expect from him 👇 Image
The Key Stats

Age: 25
Height: 5ft9
Last Club: Morecambe
Position: AM (as shown in graphic)

22/23 (League One):
Games: 21
Goals: 2
Assists: 5
1.25 Chances Created per 90
671 passes completed (87% accuracy)
8 tackles won (73% accuracy) Image
The first thing that catches the eye about Crowley is the speed and quickness of his movement. In particular, how quickly he’s able to manipulate the ball by shifting his feet

Here he completely takes the defender out of the game, opening the space for a perfectly weighted pass
Crowley’s strongest position is as a 10, one who is allowed to roam and pick up positions in pockets of space. He’s best centrally, but does drift left a lot

Again the speed of which he moves the ball on is pleasing. From this left channel he opens the game up with a simple pass
Crowley is an elusive player, one who likes to play in the tight spaces where his quick feet give him massive advantages

His low centre of gravity allow him to shift quickly, allowing him to evade opposition defenders. Lovely control and technique of pass is on display here
He’s a very clever player, one who thrives no matter if he is facing goal. His vision and awareness is exemplary, as is his technique

Here is a great example of that. He’s once again in a tight space, but escapes- lovely reverse pass round the corner with the outside of his boot
Despite his smaller frame, Crowley is not easily pushed off the ball. Nor is he afraid to get stuck in when needed

Here he shrugs off a tackle, before opening the game out. His vision but also ability to play perfectly weighted through balls are his biggest strength
Both his speed of thought and execution are strengths of his too. He works the ball on quickly here, passing into space to help the counter

This will suit our style. We play with a high tempo, and his quick thinking and urgency in his play will fit our side perfectly
His overall link up play is excellent. Here he exchanges a few quick passes before opening the game out, spotting the run out wide

He is a player that is always aware of what’s going on around him. His central positions allow him to influence the game with his exceptional vision
I’ve mentioned that he likes to drift to the left; he does, we will see that later in the thread

But it was the right side where Ruben favoured, and Crowley could help replace this. Clips like this encourage me; he controls his own RWB, determining when the run will be made
As mentioned, Crowley is able to play with his back to goal. Normally his movement allows him to evade attention, but sometimes clubs instruct their CBs to spring on him

This drags them out of position, and his round the corner play allows him to exploit the space left
Vision. Crowley has it in absolute spades. He feints one way, turns and sends the game in another direction. He’s dictating play

I also feel this clip highlights something else tho; he’s a very one footed player. He scarcely uses his left. LW will work on this I’m sure
As we’ve discussed, Crowley is very much a creative AM. However, he also has an eye for goal too

He has excellent technique when striking the ball. From the edges he is such a threatening player.

This goal is absurd. No keeper saves that
This is a beauty. A curler taken first time, while running onto it. It’s a wonderful goal, and just highlights what a threat he could be in these attacking areas

He will help replace some of the goals we’ve lost with Ruben. We need a player who can score from those zones

🧵When Cole Stockton (@cstockton94) signed for #BAFC I expected the reaction to be overwhelmingly positive

It was in fact mixed, which surprised me

So here is a thread showing why I believe Burton fans should be optimistic about their new signing 👇 Image
Firstly, he is a player capable of the spectacular. He’s able to grab the game and win points single handedly with moments like this

7 of his 11 goals came in his final 4 games; he almost single handedly kept Morecambe up
Stockton is a big forward, over 6ft. But his improvisation is always so impressive, especially when it involves acrobatics

Here he reacts so quickly, capitalising on an opportunity with a spectacular finish

🧵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England play against North Macedonia tonight. England aren’t adverse to former Non-League players, with Mings in the current squad potentially playing tonight

So here is an XI of players in Non-League who I feel could one day pull on the famous 3 Lions Shirt 👇 Image
Owen Foster

Scunthorpe’s 18 year old keeper Foster had a brilliant stint when called upon last season, so much so that he is now going on trial at several Championship clubs

A brilliant shot stopper, Foster has massive potential. Needs the right development Image
Kellen Fisher

Okay, so Fisher isn’t technically a NL player anymore BUT he only just moved to Norwich, so I’m counting him here

That move says it all for him really - he has genuine potential to be a top right back. He’s already mature beyond his years at 18 Image

🧵Sensible Transfers: #swfc

Promoted side Sheffield Wednesday were requested yday afternoon. So here are 5 players they could look at based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below 👇 Image
GK: Josh Vickers

Wednesday rotated their keepers last season, so you’d expect them to need to add another safe pair of hands

Vickers is exactly that. He’s based fairly locally, so geography works, and he’s shown over a number of years he’s a very capable keeper Image
CB: Lloyd Jones

A defender I’d like to see make the step up with Wednesday is Jones. He’s been brilliant for Cambridge for a number of years, and is now available on a free

A strong defender, one in his prime at 27, Jones is capable on the ball & would be a cost effective move Image

🧵Sensible Transfers: #LOFC

Newly promoted Leyton Orient will need to strengthen ahead of their return to League 1

Here are 5 players they should sign based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below 👇 Image
GK: Joe Wollacott

Charlton are supposedly listening to offers for the Ghanaian international, a keeper who not only has good experience but is also comfortable on the ball

At 26 he’s the perfect age for a keeper, and location works perfectly here too Image
LB: Ziyad Larkeche

Available on a free following the expiry of his contract at Fulham, Larkeche was on loan at Barnsley last season, and despite having limited minutes he ranked highly statistically

Confident going forward, Larkeche is still just 20 years old so has potential Image

Following my #EFL thread yday, here are 10 #NationalLeague players who need a move to revitalise their career

These are mainly players who 12 months ago had a very high stock, and who I believe are capable of hitting those levels again 🧵👇 Image
Cal Roberts

This one is the epitome of what this thread is all about. I have no doubt Cal Roberts is still a top, top player; he just needs the move to show it

He’s had an unlucky time in Scotland, & 12 months ago he was one of the best in the NL. A technically gifted attacker Image
Alex Lacey

12 months ago Lacey was seen as a top end NL defender, so much so that he got himself a move to the EFL despite missing out on promotion with Notts

It’s been a really poor 12 months for him, but a fresh move may unlock that defender once more Image

🧵Sensible Transfers: #rufc

One of the most highly requested teams has been Rotherham United

So here are 5 players they should look at based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below 👇 Image
CB: Di’Shon Bernard

One of the players I feel Championship clubs should be all over is 22 year old defender Bernard.

He’s just been released by Man Utd, so the geography works well. He had a strong loan in L1, has Championship experience and has room to grow too Image
RB: Regan Poole

A player who can also play in the aforementioned central role, Poole is available on a free after his contract at Lincoln expired

He had a really strong season in League 1, and has yet to confirm his next move. 23 so can develop too Image
