There is a very important lesson to learn from the recently concluded #ENGvAUS Test match yesterday. England scored at an average of 5 runs per over & went on to declare on the first day itself which is quite unexpected and unusual. Many people considered it to be a bold move.
However, it turned out to be a blunder that cost England the match. Australia had enough time to score (only at an average of 3 and 4 in their 1st & 2nd innings respectively). If England did not declare on day 1 & pushed into 2nd day, they could have saved the match on Day 5.
You can apply the same logic in investing. Many influencers say you can't time the market. But I would say timing is everything. You need to wait till the right moment/phase to invest in an opportunity. If you invest too soon or too late your returns will get impacted severely.
Only those who have the temperament, willpower, conviction, and patience take home the cherry in the end.
