This was the house of my Dad as a kid. Owned by Wilfrid dit Will Lanteigne in Caraquet. That roof was unusual in our area. It looks Swiss. The house has since been demolished.

The lines that formed the First of the First Nations in North America was my family line. I am of the marriage of Tomasso Di Savoie’s son to the line of Henri Membertou’s family.
Canada and other folks hide the line of Tomasso Di Savoie’s family. I don’t know why. We were illiterate but we still held our history as Indigenous people by oral history. We knew our ancestors. It was our way to remember all that.
Canada admits we are the First Métis people but there are a lot of other folks trying to hide all that. Either way there is a vast quantit of academic reports specifically naming us as Métis. collectionscanada.gc.ca/obj/thesescana…
Hereditary Chief Stephen Augustine knows my folks are Acadian Mi’kmaw people. He admits it 44 minutes in.
The Queen apologized to our Nation for our illegal deportation. We never asked for a penny. We only wanted the truth affirmed but people in Canada really have no clue about this or what it means. We are still kept under a bushel.
My family are the First Métis of North America and we remain Métis Acadians unceded to this day. We never lived as European people because our Mother’s were the Midwives, Sage Femme women. Medicine women of the line of women who sealed the Nationhood. That was the Vatican way.
We had lines of women even before the Vatican. Women’s councils guided the chiefs. We are a society of matriarchs. My grandfathers were captains and cod fisherman but the women grew food, made medicines, kept the history and raised kids and fabricated everything to survive.
Our many Mi’kmaw petroglyphs honoured the women.

Our shared history is in the flags. The Mi’kmaw flag resembles the Scandinavian flags for a reason.
