In 2022, Hollywood made $7,320,000,000 through storytelling.

99% of the movies used the same story framework.

Here’s a breakdown (including clips from your favorites):
Introduction:

Show the character & their world:

Open loops to capture and maintain attention.

Without loops, your story will fall flat. The Intro in the make-or-break moment.
Conflict:

The conflict puts the story in motion.

It propels the main character into taking action.

The conflict always:

•Introduces a problem
•Creates empathy with the hero
•Leaves the audience on the edge of their seats
First turning point:

The hero makes a decision that puts them in uncharted territory.

This raises the stakes & creates uncertainty.

Answer:

•What will happen?
•Where will the hero go?
•What problems will the hero encounter?
Midpoint:

This is where a major shift happens.

It's either the hero's success or failure.

A revelation happens.

The heroes:

•Point of view shifts
•Begins a transformation
•Receives support from outside sources
Second turning point:

Another significant event happens:

•Failure
•Obstacles
•Death of a character

The second turning point highlights what the hero has to do to achieve the final goal.
Climax:

This is the peak problem of the story.

The culmination of subplots forms one big gang.

This is where the hero becomes tested:
Resolution:

This is where the conflict is solved.

Determine whether the resolution is happy or sad.

Ending on a positive note will leave a better impression on your audience.
TLDR:

Intro - Up
Conflict - No Country For Old Men
First Turning Point - Romeo + Juliet (1996)
Midpoint - From Dusk til Dawn
Second turning point - The Dark Knight
Climax - Lord of the Rings (Return of the King)
Resolution - The Martian

The powerful storytelling trick NO ONE is talking about:

Juxtaposition.

This trick will make you a master at hooking and holding attention (fast):
Why you need to use juxtaposition:

Juxtaposition hacks the mind with conflict.

How?

"Despite her warm heart, she was ice cold."

This conflicts with the internal and external worlds.

The perfect recipe for a hero's journey.

Pretty cool ay?

Let's go further:
Do opposites attract?

You know it.

Attract your reader like this:

Example:
“The sun felt so good, but the smell was terrible”

Why was the sun feeling good? - A nice day.

What smelled terrible? - Something bad.

The reader:
“GIVE ME MORE”

But wait! There's more:

The Father of Content Marketing:

David Ogilvy.

I’ve spent the past 15 days hand-copying his ads.

Here are 7 of his story tactics that make products sell themselves (and stand out):
Why is David Ogilvy the father of content marketing?

• Coined term "brand image"
• Created iconic Rolls Royce ad (1959)
• Elected to the Advertising Hall of Fame (1977)

And changed advertising forever (while making 100s of millions).

Let me show you his tricks: Image
1.) Go against the status quo

“Shirts guaranteed to fade”

Why?

We’re wired to find change.

This take goes against what’s normal

Making people beg for more information.

Turn the expected into the unexpected:

With stories. Ogilvy style. Image

The system that helped me get 20,000 followers in 9 months:

Justin Welsh’s Content Operation System.

Here’s how to combine Justin’s OS with storytelling to build an audience and authority (fast): Image
I made a HUGE mistake.

It cost me 100s of hours

And sent my threads into the void.

Know the feeling?

June/July/August 2022:
I gained less than 100 followers in 3 months.

Why?

Justin’s COS cleared the fog then my following grew.

Here's how:
Justin's creator funnel.

1.) Get attention
2.) Build Trust
3.) Deepen the Relationship
4.) Monetize

Add storytelling:
1.) Get attention (Borrow or your own)
2.) Build Trust (Borrow or share failures)
3.) Deepen the Relationship (Journey Story)
4.) Monetize (Client Stories)
