🚨BREAKING: The Court has granted our motion to BLOCK top officials in the federal government from violating the First Amendment rights of millions of Americans.

What a way to celebrate Independence Day.
The preliminary injunction prohibits nearly all of the federal government, including DHS, DOJ, and HHS, from coercing and colluding with social media companies to censor free speech, amongst other things:

Key officials of the White House, CDC, FBI, State Department, and other agencies are also blocked from participating in the federal government’s vast censorship enterprise.



Just as the judge hinted at in our first hearing in May, there is nothing stopping the feds from continuing to censor political speech without this injunction.
The federal government cannot be trusted to protect Americans' rights, which is precisely why our Founders enshrined the First Amendment into the Constitution.
My office is doing everything it can to protect Missourians' right to free speech from the largest First Amendment violation in American history.
This injunction is a huge win in the fight to defend our most fundamental freedoms.
But we’re not done yet. We’re just getting started.

Yesterday, we obtained an order to HALT what the court described as the Biden administration’s "massive attack against free speech” unseen before in United States history.

Some notable points from the judge’s order in our landmark free speech case, Missouri v. Biden:
The judge noted the censorship emanating from the federal government looks a lot like George Orwell’s “1984,” that “the evidence produced thus far depicts an almost dystopian scenario” and that the feds appear to have “assumed a role similar to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth.”
The Court points out that the 20,000+ pages of evidence my office uncovered display the frightening coercion and collusion occurring between the feds and social media companies.

I've joined 16 other AGs in filing an amicus brief at the Arizona Supreme Court in support of Arizona's pro-life law that has been tied up in litigation. Image
In its Dobbs ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court correctly recognized that the Constitution allows states to protect life. After that decision, Arizona asked the state courts to allow it to enforce its elective-abortion ban.
The trial court agreed, but the Arizona Court of Appeals reversed and essentially declared Arizona’s pro-life law had been repealed. It concluded that physicians may perform abortions through 15 weeks gestation.

I joined 18 states in challenging the EPA's decision to allow California to illegally ban existing tractor-trailers and heavy-duty vehicles by forcing truckers to buy zero-emission trucks and mandating net-zero emissions standards.
This regulation would regulate the current trucking industry out of existence.

The federal government had a hard time convincing a judge last week that it hasn't been working with and coercing social media companies to censor free speech.

Some notable moments from the first hearing in our First Amendment case, Missouri v. Biden:
The judge asked the feds if they had ever read George Orwell’s 1984, pointing out the similarities between the case and the book.
The Court asked the feds if all the emails between them and social media companies were real because "it seems like there's a lot here." The feds were forced to admit the tens of thousands of pages of evidence are genuine.

My office seeks to protect consumers and hold accountable those who illegally plague Missourians with unwanted phone calls.

We filed suit with 47 other AGs against Avid Telecom for sending more than 7.5 billion calls to phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. Image
The lawsuit alleges that Avid Telecom initiated and facilitated billions of illegal robocalls to millions of people, thereby violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and other federal and state telemarketing and consumer laws.
My office has already filed suit against one of Avid Telecom’s customers. Avid Telecom assisted that customer in sending more than four billion robocalls between May 2019 and March 2021.
