One of the zillion federal agents now employed by NBC News, @BarbMcQuade, spent weeks before the 2020 election spreading the CIA lie that the Hunter Biden laptop was "Russian disinformation."

She now has a book on disinformation: like Dick Cheney writing a book on human rights:
To be fair, I suppose someone who constantly spreads CIA disinformation campaigns while employed by large media corporations is, in a sense, an expert on disinformation.

But they should be writing a handbook on how to do it, not a screed against it:

Attacking Trump by saying he's unwilling to cut Social Security -- as Christie is doing -- seems like a nice gift to Trump.

All these guys who cheer every war, who want to spend trillions and/or send kids from other people's families to combat, also want to cut Social Security.
The NYT, owned by nepotistic heirs, has been cheering the US proxy war in Ukraine from the start, wanting more and more money poured into it.

They just ran an Editorial on US debt, warning Americans to prepare for "painful" cuts - none on war spending:

What Chris Christie is doing is incredibly obvious.

The easiest way to get rich and get media gigs in US politics is to constantly attack Trump. It rehabilitates the worst criminals, turns them into liberal stars. That's what his "campaign" is for:

The top priority of the bipartisan US Foreign Policy establishment and CIA -- by far -- is fueling the proxy war in Ukraine.

There was a grand total of one TV host in corporate media vehemently and vocally opposed to that policy.

But then he got fired, so now there is none.
In 2003, there was a grand total of one TV host in corporate media opposed to the Iraq War: Phil Donahue. He got fired, despite being the top-rated show on MSNBC, leaving none.

(There are a couple Fox hosts still opposed but nowhere near the level of stridency of Carlson was).
I suppose you can believe - if you really want to - that it was just a gigantic coincidence that Fox in 2023, like MSNBC in 2003, fired its top-rated host who was by far the most vocal opponent of the key bipartisan war policy.

Here's @CJR on Donahue:

Tonight on @SystemUpdate_, live at 7pm ET:

How Endless War is bankrupting the US, leading establishment outlets to warn Americans of imminent "painful choices" for their lives.

Plus: France prepares to ban social media and use cellphones to spy:

That massive war spending harmed Americans' quality of life was once so clear it needed no debate.

Now, this neoliberal rag just accused RFK Jr, myself and others of being - all together now - "Kremlin propagandists" for arguing it. We'll discuss this.

The NYT - which has steadfastly supported Biden's proxy war in Ukraine and the $100 billion for it - just warned Americans the country is drowning in debt and they need to prepare for cuts to Social Security and Medicaid. No mention of war spending:

This ruling is so vital. The first to:

1) acknowledge the systemic program of the US Govt to pressure/coerce Big Tech to censor for it;

2) apply established 1st Am principles that the state is barred from pressuring private actors to censor for it;

3) banned its continuation:
This NYT article is so remarkable: it now praises as Vital to Our Safety the NSA's domestic warantless spying program that the NYT itself exposed in 2005, but also:

Admits the "new generation" of the GOP opposes US Security State powers, while new Dems revere the CIA/NSA/FBI:

This is the radical change in US politics that most establishment liberals and corporate media figures can't see.

It's what explains why Dems are in bed with neocons; why they revere the US Security State; and why they defend an online censorship regime run by DHS, CIA and FBI.

In reporting on the ruling barring FBI and Biden officials from pressuring Big Tech to censor, the NYT says:

"The issue of the government’s influence over social media has become increasingly partisan."

Yep: Dems want state censorship of the internet.

nytimes.com/2023/07/04/bus…
In fact, Democrats overwhelmingly favor corporate censorship of the internet as well as government censorship of the internet, all in the name of combating "disinformation."

Imagine trusting tech billionaires and the FBI/CIA to decree truth and falsity.
Hello, @SenMarkey: when it comes to Big Tech censorship of the internet, is it the view of the Democratic Party that they are censoring too much political speech, or that they are censoring too little?

I can't overstate how subservient corporate media is to the US Security State.

This person, @ryanjreilly, made himself a thinly disguised FBI agent by trying to hunt down anyone at Jan 6. He got hired by NBC as a reward.

Now he's complaining FBI doesn't do enough censoring:
The problem: millions of American liberals are trained to see US history as beginning in 2016, with Trump.

That's why they love neocons and Bush/Cheney operatives.

And it's why they don't see how bizarre it is that "journalists" are the loudest activists *for censorship.*
One reminder:

A key taboo in journalism was you never expose your source to the FBI. You're expected to go prison even if they try to force you.

But an unwell Russiagate blogger *voluntarily* ratted out her own source to FBI, and corporate media *celebrated* this as noble.
