Busy and impactful day at DC federal court for Jan 6 defendants

Brian Mock, a Minnesota man accused of assaulting & shoving police & taking police riot shield is found GUILTY by federal judge.

He had a prior conviction and had been accused in 2010 of directing gun at 3 kids
Meanwhile, down the hall on the 2nd floor of court, an FBI agent is testifying at trial of Steve Cappucio, who’s accused of yanking gas mask from officer, stealing officer’s baton & striking him w/ it

FBI agent testifies Cappucio sent a photo of the FBI wanted poster fearing Cappucio’s image from Jan 6 with a man named Mike

Taranto is facing only misdemeanor Jan 6 charges for now

Prosecutors have indicated they’ll add federal firearms charge(s), but won’t today.

They’ll try to convince judge Zia Farriqui to hold Taranto in jail… on a misdemeanor. They’re arguing “dangerousness” & “flight risk”
