1/2 What is lolicon? Lolicon is someone who likes anime characters that share the qualities of “cute things/girls/roundness/girl-ness” in reference to “two-dimensional” “manga-like” and “anime-like characters”.

2/2 Concepts that are part of this, are that of “moe” and “bishōjo”, terms that emerged from the “lolicon boom”. However the term loli/lolicon has been “narrowed to more young-looking depictions”. This is where the controversy starts.

1/2 Mistranslations, misinformation, varied laws, and Western influence/views have tainted the term loli/lolicon. While this sub-genre of anime/manga/games has for the longest time been seen as “weird”,

2/2 as anyone who’d admittedly say they romanticize/sexualize fictional characters is not of a normal/society-accepted nature… It has now been twisted to fit a narrative, that these cartoon characters promote/or are pedophilia/pedophilic.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Some people believe that because of Google Translate, that lolicon is pedophilia. However, “shōniseiai” is the translation of “pedophile”, not “lolicon” which is instead “feedback” from users. In Rev’s video he covers this very mistranslation issue:

𝐋𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚:
The word 'loli' has its roots in a very famous book called 'Lolita', but although this book describes a taboo pedophilic relationship, Lolita is just a nickname for one of the characters. Lolita does not mean pedophilia - a common misconception.

Lolita is also now being used as a term for a specific type of fashion popularized in Japan. "highly influenced by Victorian clothing and styles from the Rococo period" - in other words, not pedophilia related.

2/3 them, they’ll never know anything of their existence. They can be dragons/succubi/gods. Real world implications of victimization, r*pe, emotional distress, m*lestation, do not apply to fictional characters. Simply, they do not exist, and therefore they exist outside of

3/3 morality and logic, and applying real world consequences of crime to them does not make sense.

Lolis can be any age, and loli is a specific look/visual.

Youthful-looking attraction is not pedophilic. It’s the same reason we do not say that someone isn’t a pedophile/groomer, for going after a 13 year old who happens to look 18 or older. Pedophilia under the DSM-5 is described as such:

1/2 As you can see, pedophilia is specifically attraction to human children, 13 years or younger, with an age gap of at least 5 years, applying to those 16 and above. Some still might say “but they’re depictions of human children!”,

2/2 but unless the lolicon ALSO fits the DSM-5 definition, they simply are not a pedophile. The more correct term would be “fictosexual”, described as “sexual attraction towards fictional characters.”

2/2 but as you can see by the averages, there are a decent amount of countries with more slender women, and in conjunction with height, a lot of petite women.

Hair:

Hair? Anywhere between 85% and 62.1% of women shave their pubic hair. A lot of women and men prefer it that way. While hair can be a sign of physical maturity, this simply does not fit the criteria of pedophilia.

Flat chest:

1/2 “They have a flat chest!”. “53 percent of women and 49 percent of men shared that they prefer a C cup”. A “C cup”, while not necessarily flat, isn’t necessarily big either (different dimensions have different looks). In fact,

2/2 the “average largest breast size” by country ranges from C to B. Most countries in the world in fact have an average of AA to A. So even among the average of some countries, a lot of women are getting discriminated against for perfectly normal breast sizes.

2/3 Both “sex and violence share a number of common brain states”, so it’s not like sexual stimulation is so different from violent stimulation. If fictional violence does not lead to real life violence, then why would fictional fetishes?
