the GS confirmed we currently have 385,000 fully paid Labour members plus another 13,000 in arrears - Total 398,000 members
There were tributes paid to Margaret McDonagh, Bob Kerslake and Glenda Jackson who we have sadly lost since the last NEC meeting.
The Forde Report working group shall meet for a final time before conference to discuss the actions and implementations of those from the report
Following those actions, a Code of Conduct for staff, members and leaders shall be developed as part of the implementation of Forde.
Labour Conference will be on 8-11 October 2024 in Liverpool.
We were informed by the GS that this year's conference will have the biggest attendance in conference history and has already sold a record number of exhibits than ever before.
There was a NPF Update from Chair of the Labour Party Anneliese Dodds.
Dodds thanked everyone for taking part and confirmed that the party now had a policy platform ready for the next GE.
The final NPF document will be available after conference.
Both Leader and Deputy Leader reported back their experiences of the NPF as well as the recent by- election experiences, successes and failures followed by a campaign update from the Campaign Director
The Labour Party HQ will move again after conference from the current Blackfriars office to a new premises about 100 metres down the road to a bigger,better and more suitable premises in terms of space and cost.
The next NEC is before conference in September where CLP motions and conference preparations will be on the agenda.
The September NEC meeting may also be in Scotland as the Rutherglen by-election will be taking place and it will be good to meet somewhere other than London.
