I've been hired by Google, Epic Games and Affirm to name a few.

Here are the 10 of the trickier interview questions - and how to respond well:

Number 1: "How would you handle a situation where you strongly disagree with the higher-ups' decision?"

THREAD with advice on all 10:
1. How would you handle a situation where you strongly disagree with the higher-ups' decision?

2. How would you react if a project you championed was suddenly shelved?

• One example was when
• I took time to think it over myself
• Then I consoled affected team members
• Then I brought it back up when it was strategically important again 6 months later
3. Describe a time when you had to persuade a team member who disagreed to adopt your approach. How did you handle it?

Barbie’s opening weekend was $337M. That’s nearly 2x Oppenheimer’s $174M.

Warner Brother's insane ”Operation Barbie Summer” is a big part of that success.

These are 50 of the team's most amazing marketing stunts:

1. 3D ad in front of Burj Khalifa

2. Google Confetti for Greta Gerwig, Ryan Gosling, and Margot Robbie

Who is this, and why is she all over your feed?

Meet Pinkydoll, the TikTok Live creator making $7K per day selling from repetitively saying “Yes! Wow"

She's collided with the TikTok gifts & NPC performer trends to make beaucoup 💸

Here's what you’ve wanted to know:

TREND 1: TikTok Live & Gifts

Our story starts back in 2019, when TikTok released live streaming & gifts.

Like many things TikTok does, these products have slowly grown to become huge.

But their users aren't Twitter-bubble folks - so their growth falls below our radar.

TREND 2: NPC Creators

In early 2022, Japanese streamer natuecoco popularized NPC live-performances.

Performers mimic video game NPCs with limited interactions. Viewers love to see if they'll break character.

Most frameworks are a trap.

Good for beginners, but a crutch that won’t help your product win.

These 10 frameworks will actually make you a better PM:
1. Leveraged Neutral Overhead

Categorize tasks into 3 buckets:

· Leveraged: do them well
· Neutral: do them ok
· Overhead: reduce/eliminate

If you can do more 10x leveraged work and less overhead <1x work, you’ll make more impact. Image
2. The 5 Questions of Product Management

Use these questions to guide what you should do:

WHY are we doing things --> vision
WHAT are we doing --> strategy
WHO are we doing it for --> segmentation
WHEN are we delivering it --> roadmap
HOW are we doing it --> specifications Image

Mira Murati is the most powerful CTO in the world.

As CTO of OpenAI, she has led the work on ChatGPT, DALL-E, the OpenAI API, GPT-4, and much more...

And she only graduated college in 2012 🤯

Here's Mira's amazing story:

1/10 Source: Fast Company Middle East
Mira was born in Albania in 1988.

When she was 2, the dictatorial regime fell.

Because she had experienced regime change and history books that kept changing, she gravitated to the truth of math & physics as a kid.

Source: @kevin_scott @Microsoft @miramurati conversation

A star student in Albania, Mira won a scholarship to an exclusive international high school in Canada for her last two years.

She followed that up with an engineering degree at the Ivy League school Dartmouth University.

Her senior project was building a hybrid race car.

AI doesn't stop 🤯

In the last 10 days:

Elon forms xAI
Shopify Sidekick
Tumor Detection AI
AI Wildfire Cameras
ChatGPT in an E-bike
Code Interpreter For All
Google Bard Self-Limiting
Claude 2.0 100K Token Window

Here's what you need to know:
1. Elon forms xAI

Elon Musk has announced the formation of his latest company with an all-star cast of 12, including:

• Igor Babuschkin: Behind DeepMind's StarCraft player that beats humans
• Jimmy Ba: Responsible for building blocks of modern transformers & neural nets
What's the purpose of xAI?

It's going to compete on the foundational model layer.

Musk actually founded OpenAI, but he created it as an open-source nonprofit, and they have become closed-source for-profit.

Elon has not been impressed (here on @CNBC):

🚨 Liquid Death IPO news leaked: The water in a beer can company will be going public in 2024.

It's one of the wildest brands ever (as this ad shows).

And the story behind it is equally wild: featuring chopped off heads, fake energy drinks, and insane growth.

A THREAD

1/18
The story of Liquid Death is the story of its founder and chief personality, Mike Cessario.

Early in life, he was always very interested in Skateboarding and Skate graphics. Things like Mad magazine.

These had a huge influence on Liquid Death's art style now.

After skateboarding, Mike played guitar in Metal & Punk bands.

So it's no surprise to hear metal in many of their ads.

Including, unexpectedly, this cartoon ad:
