Romer cited Hong Kong as a prime example of a ‘special administrated city.’ Hong Kong was colonized by the UK in the 19th century, China copied Hong Kong’s private governance rules which were forced on local residents by the UK. See where this is going yet?

It is telling that Brexit is now recolonizing the UK by using this model of anti-state governance and opting for massive infrastructural changes that leave out any form of public participation in decision-making, this is corporate governance replacing social governance.

There is only one shortcut to making Brexit work, that is with charter cities, this non-mandated decision is being forced in by anarcho-capitalists buoyed by both Tories and Labour in a class war. This model dates back to 1600 and the East India Company.

In England +350 Local Councils are experiencing engineered insolvency while simultaneously being merged into CCAs, this lays the foundations for private local governance, public assets are sold off cheap, venture capitalists make a killing.

Residents in the zones will then be forced to pay higher taxes to clean up the resulting pollution and experience decimation of small businesses as the sharks move in to set up big tech/agri/pharma/fracking, etc then reap profits without paying a penny to improve public services.

I strongly suspect the refugee's barges will be part of the new domestic supply of slave labour for companies like Dubai-owned P&O. The ‘leveling up’ project should be renamed ‘Startup Political Jurisdiction Project’.

Charter cities don’t have to be built, any city can be transformed to succumb to corporate governance. With the right deregulatory powers and corrupt domestic minions on hand, you can declare a region under private ownership and sell off land to external management...

Where charter schools targeted state schools as outmoded, charter cities target the outmoded institutions of nation-states. Remember, Sunak the unelected oligarch studied this at Stanford.
