OPstandard is the language, the dialect that ₿OSS understands. Before going further, ₿OB is young ₿OSS.
The only language that can speak to ₿OSS and unlock it's true power is OPStandard. ₿OSS observes the blockchain waiting for special messages...
3) OPScheme
OPScheme is the modality in which ₿OSS recognizes, ingests and digests OPStandard. Think of it like OpStandard is the language and if humans were to speak in it - we'd use written word, speech or say sign language.
₿OSS uses OpScheme. Think of an envelope.
4) OpScheme continued...
In the previous tweet, Stacey lost Chad as he became a ₿OSS respectoor.
She wants to speak to ₿OSS so she needs to write in OPStandard and use OpScheme as the modality as that is what ₿OSS is looking for as it observes.
5) Simplifiers
At the heart of the ₿OSS BVM is the simplifier. As ₿OSS observes () the blockchain he's waiting envelopes(OPscheme) full of language he understands(OPStandard).
When he finds one, he checks if OpStandard is VALID.
If yes, off it goes... https://t.co/SucLcj0N0Wboss.observer
6) Simplifiers continued...
Off it goes to the simplifier(mail room). There the envelop Stacey sent is opened and the OpStandard is written and executed.
Before going any further, let's talk about... TDTD...
You can read the wikipedia page I shared OR don't trust me, google it yourself(recommended as clicking links is naive).
TDTD are essentially smart contracts written in OPStandard. Instead of writing same code over and over, use TDTD.
8) TDTD continued....
Since ₿OSS is new, ~NONE of the TDTD don't exist yet. In the future an ODE ( $OSHI, $YARI, endless..) will likely be a combination of TDTD's.
Over the coming weeks, all this will be created by those who have the power to vote on ₿OSS governance.
9) One more term for you, OSS Inscription.
An OSS Inscription is one that's formatted in a way to send a letter written in OpStandard to ₿OSS via the OPScheme modality containing instructions (think TDTD) on how to do... SOMETHING.
OSS Inscription is ~ ₿ (OSS) inscription.
10) Back to Simplifier
Stacey sent an OSS, inscription written in OpStandard containing TDTD(s) via OPScheme modality for ₿OSS Simplifier (BVM).
₿OSS observes all data on the blockchain so when it saw the envelope, opened it. Since the OpStandard was valid - ingests it.
11) Execution
The simplifier aka a notary node now executes the commands & updates its internal state. In this case, Stacey gets her surely TLDR message sent to Chad, begging him to stop being a 24/7 ₿OSS Respectooor and come back to Netlflix and Chill.
12) Verifiable
₿OSS only executes OpSchemes (envelopes it receives) if written in JavaScript Domain-Specific Language (DSL) that we call OPStandard.
All ₿OSS does is execute previously approved TDTD's so we know what was supposed to be done, was in fact done. No questions.
13) ₿OSS has NO TOKEN
Since ₿OSS is a meta-protocol, it has NO TOKEN.
Think of ₿OSS as a Linux for #Bitcoin. It's open source, permissionless and essentially limitless.
₿OSS is governed via the ODE. $OSHI will be an ODE, $YARI will be an ODE, there will be many.
14) How ODEs Govern ₿OSS
Think of an ODE as it's own company. The token of said ODE is essentially a voting share in the company. When $OSHI changes $OSHi things, $OSHi holders vote.
Got it? Good.
15) ODES GOVERN ₿OSS
When there needs to be changes to ₿OSS, the ODES vote. The more important an ODE is to the ecosystem, the more weight its vote has - this is to make sure incentives are aligned.
For a new TDTD (TRUSTED document type definition) to get approved it must...
16) ODES GOVERN ₿OSS continued...
Get voted in by the ODES. This is how ₿OSS will STOP SCAMS before they can start. If you can't execute malicious code in the BVM, how can it harm users?
All accepted TDTD are approved through governance. In the start, lots of work...
17) ODES GOVERN ₿OSS continued...
Once the majority are in, you have an open source version of linux, backward compatible with rest of web 2.0 via JSON that operates based on inscriptions you send it.
BOSS, you feed it what you want it to do. You know what it will do as you know what the TDTD's do.
It's all open source. If a TDTD is malicious, governance won't approve.
So right now, at this moment on the timechain mini-₿OSS is running. It's called ₿OB, it came to "life" on July 26th, 2023 so this isn't just artsy fartsy drawings (IYKYK) anymore...
