Dear BreatheMD Community,

The pandemic is over - but not for all. I just left my office to see a patient who is 14 days out from contracting COVID. He's struggling to breathe and is needing IV medications.
He's higher risk - having undergone a lung transplant prior to the pandemic - and normally would be cared for by his transplant team at Houston Methodist. But surprisingly, they seem to have abandoned him.
He was admitted to one of their hospitals last weekend, but after sitting in his room overnight with no nursing care (no vital signs, no bloodwork, no IV, no oxygen) and no physician visit, he left and reached out to me.
