Acko General Insurance has got one of its kind policy where that will cover all diseases from Day 1!
This is a superb feature that no other insurer offers!🤯🤯
A thread🧵 on features of Acko Platinum Health Insurance Policy
Lets go👇
Acko Platinum Health Insurance:-
Some diseases such as cataracts etc come with a waiting period of upto 2 years
Acko covers all diseases from Day-1 irrespective of any health condition.
This is a significant deviation from all other policies and is friendly to the customers
No copay:-
The policy comes with no Co-pay which means in case of a hospitalization the company will cover most of the bill.
No Room rent limit and associated deduction:-
The policy comes with no room rent limit.
This means there will be no deductions anywhere.
Pre and Post-Hospitalisation Costs:-
All costs associated with your medical condition (e.g., doctor's visit, lab tests, medicines) in the 60 days leading up to your hospitalization are covered
All costs associated with your medical condition (e.g doctor's visit, lab tests, medicines) upto 120 days of discharge from the hospital are covered.
Unlimited Restore:-
Consider the situation where you use up all of your insurance coverage of Rs 1 Cr for hospitalization or treatment.
In this case, if you or a family member needs another treatment for a different medical issue, they may find themselves without insurance
With "Unlimited restore" ACKO will re-fill your insurance coverage by another 1 Cr.
This is again one of its kind
Health check-up (One per year per member):-
1 annual health check up for all insured members above 18 years is covered. You can visit a lab of your choice and get a preventive health checkup done.
AYUSH treatments:-
AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy) treatments that require overnight hospitalization are covered.
Maternity:-
Costs of maternity including childbirth and miscarriages are not covered.
Costs are covered in case of ectopic pregnancy treatments and also covered in case of miscarriage due to an accident.
Consumables:-
All consumables / single-use medical supply costs (e.g. gloves, syringes, masks, cotton etc). These costs, which make up 10-15% of a typical hospital bill
Premium-
The premium for a 30-year-old is Rs 8611/year
The premium for a 40-year-old is Rs 9821/year
This premium is lesser than most comprehensive policies available
Conclusion:-
Acko has come up with a brilliant plan which is good for the policyholder of covering all diseases from Day-1.
The features of this policy are comparable or even better than a comprehensive policy.
So good features and a low price?
Is this sustainable?
Insurers generally provide these features in order to grow fast and get more clients
As time goes on and claims rise 1. Insurers could withdraw some features 2. Increase the premium
But for now, it is a good policy.
