I’m in West Maui. Service is rough. Hard to post. But we’re putting together stories of incredible citizens stepping up where the government has failed. And at Napili Plaza someone from the Mayor Richard Bissen’s office tries to shut me down saying West Maui is a media free zone. No sir, this is America.
Right now I am nowhere near search and rescue. I’m twelve miles from Lahaina. How is the entire West Side a media free zone? Is it no longer America? Constitution has been suspended?
Everyone here is confused. Mixed messages. Just like those that led to no sirens during the fire. Is the water good or bad? How do you get in or out of West Maui? Chaos and confusion. I’ll tell you this, citizens are happy we are here. They have stories. And they are unhappy with leadership.
And inspirationally, they have stepped up. I just hung with two 29-year-old girls who’ve organized an airlift to the West Side. It’s stunning. Planes and helicopters landing all day to bring supplies better than the government. I just saw retired firefighters volunteering to distribute goods.

Fentanyl isn’t an overdose issue. The gall of Mexico’s President saying “not our problem.”
Mexico is not free. It’s a corrupt narco state, which means this guy, is complicit in poisoning Americans with fentanyl. And he stand here saying…”your fault”.
You don’t understand fentanyl. This isn’t an OVERDOSE issue. It’s POISONING.
Dear lord this is possibly the dumbest column ever written. The author @mikefreemanNFL either has no ability to marshal reason and logic or believes that you, the reader, are impossibly dumb.
Thread me 🧵
Let’s start with this. The claim is that it’s now a conspiracy NOT to believe an evidence free claim.
It’s not only a conspiracy to wonder why a stadium full of cameras, mics, and cell phones wouldn’t pick up repeated use of the n-word…
It’s a conspiracy to notice that none of the thousands of students - including fellow black athletes - didn’t hear the crime.
That’s letting the question be decided by the sentiments of TODAY.
The constitution is a set of limitations on the government. It protects certain rights from majority democracy rule.
But you simply cannot find abortion in the Constitution.
If you don’t want to be limited by the Constitution, but you also don’t want to embrace democracy, but you also don’t want to be ruled by nine justices, or at least these nine justices…what do you want?
I am vaccinated. I have suggested on tv and on podcast that the risk/reward for adults without natural immunity, and certainly with comorbidities, leans towards vaccination. This even as the vax declines in effectiveness in stopping transmission because it effects severity. BUT…
That position is held with humility, not just because of the constantly changing science and data on a virus we’re still learning about, but because it never occurred to me to wield that position as some kind of moral superiority over other’s health decisions.
Peacocking over vax status or your fidelity to the “experts” is one thing. But encouraging the scapegoating an entire class of people (against science) who make a different health care decision than you is beyond the pale. Only surpassed in ugliness by forcing your medicine.
