Truly one of the coolest things I’ve ever had the privilege of being a part of, Task Force Lahaina. Please watch: Last month @PeteHegseth reached out to me and said the @LasVegasSands wanted to connect about Maui. They ended up offering their private planes, usually reserved for high stakes gamblers, to help the people of Maui. (Nicest planes I’ve ever seen. 747, two stories, bedrooms, beautiful, top quality.) I didn’t know what to do with that at first.

On the missing and the dead. Anecdotally everyone I have spoken to that was in Lahaina August 8th or has since done work in Lahaina has said the number of dead will be much higher. In the range of 500-1000. But… I know they are not looking for “bodies”. They are looking for DNA. Not to be too gruesome but: a piece of bone, a finger, any trace, which can be found be the dogs.

But if the number is 500-1,000 dead, it is very hard for me to reconcile the relatively low number of people screaming out for the missing.

“There are too many people that have jobs in Maui because they are related or connected.”

In taking inventory of preparedness and response…part of accountability will lie at the feet of patronage.

Etan Krupnick’s family had a home on Aki Street for over 100 years. Seven generations of memories were lost in the fires of Lahaina. “I thought I was related to everyone in Lahaina because the house was a gathering place for the community. There were funerals in my grandmas house.” The house was a multi-generational safe haven.
That day Etan, who is an electrician and farmer, was at the house in Aki. When the black smoke rose, meaning buildings were burning, he sent his wife and son and mother away, escaping Lahaina. He and his uncle tried for a bit to hose down the house before realizing they too had to flee. “You could feel the heat, like an oven.” He evacuated six people from the house and through smoke and traffic and chaos they, like so many others, took backroads and u-turns and around police barricades to escape Lahaina.

I’m in West Maui. Service is rough. Hard to post. But we’re putting together stories of incredible citizens stepping up where the government has failed. And at Napili Plaza someone from the Mayor Richard Bissen’s office tries to shut me down saying West Maui is a media free zone. No sir, this is America. Right now I am nowhere near search and rescue. I’m twelve miles from Lahaina. How is the entire West Side a media free zone? Is it no longer America? Constitution has been suspended?

Mexico’s cartels are POISONING Americans.

Fentanyl isn’t an overdose issue. The gall of Mexico’s President saying “not our problem.”
Mexico is not free. It’s a corrupt narco state, which means this guy, is complicit in poisoning Americans with fentanyl. And he stand here saying…”your fault”.

Dear lord this is possibly the dumbest column ever written. The author @mikefreemanNFL either has no ability to marshal reason and logic or believes that you, the reader, are impossibly dumb.

Thread me 🧵 Image Let’s start with this. The claim is that it’s now a conspiracy NOT to believe an evidence free claim. Image

Can’t make heads or tails of this tweet.

Dave doesn’t want to be ruled by the Constitution because it’s old. But yesterdays decision was about the limits of the Constitution.

Voters, not the constitution, not nine justices, will decide abortion. That’s letting the question be decided by the sentiments of TODAY.

The constitution is a set of limitations on the government. It protects certain rights from majority democracy rule.

But you simply cannot find abortion in the Constitution.

This is propaganda from Politifact. It is misinformation or disinformation (what’s the difference?) and should be labeled as such by Twitter. 🧵 I said a child is more likely to visit the hospital from the vaccine than from COVID and provided CDC data. Here it is:

A child 0-17 has a .00039% chance of hospitalization from Covid. This translates to 39 in 100,000 kids yearly hospitalized for COVID.

I am vaccinated. I have suggested on tv and on podcast that the risk/reward for adults without natural immunity, and certainly with comorbidities, leans towards vaccination. This even as the vax declines in effectiveness in stopping transmission because it effects severity. BUT… That position is held with humility, not just because of the constantly changing science and data on a virus we’re still learning about, but because it never occurred to me to wield that position as some kind of moral superiority over other’s health decisions.

Awful. Horrendous. Vile.

As we don’t yet know the shooter’s motivation, I’ll wait to make a larger point until the facts come out. Like we should do - and neglect to do - in every viral video that others have used to justify riots.
But...(thread), But THIS must be addressed NOW.

A city leader says a 31-year-old mother deserved this, witnesses celebrate shooting cops, & “protestors” wish them death.

An ACAB climate has been built on a lie, fostered by radicals, and tolerated by ppl who only hope to never be called racist. ImageImageImage

Dishonestly lecturing your audience on how racist they and their country are - shockingly - takes a toll on ratings.

deadline.com/2020/09/nfl-ra… I know many in sports don’t want to believe this, but they are destroying their audience. They are committing industry suicide.

Sports is now viewed more unfavorably than lawyers...and CNN anchors!

Let me share with you my favorite story from Super Bowl week. I’m sitting around at my hotel on Tuesday night and I meet Ramon. He works the bar and tells me this: Now, Zach and I go back a little bit, so I sent him this video. Wanted him to see one of his biggest fans and the impact he’s had. I didn’t expect anything from it. Zach has a busy weekend. Not only is the SB in Miami but he’s made the final cutdown to 10 for the HOF.

The Cubs, like the world, have gone insane. In order of familiarity, the “ok” hand signal means:

1. A century old signal that everything is fine. 2. That you just hit a three.
