In 2009 (somewhat old apologize if things have changed), the author Edwin Rubenstein did a report on the one of these credits, the earned income tax credit (EITC) and found that it had the highest percent of improper payments at nearly 1/3 payments being improper:
Unlawful immigrants are barred from this program, but many have fake social security numbers, or can claim benefits through their citizen children... Keep this in mind when we hear about them "paying" taxes...
Rubenstein also claims that the EITC pushes up the birth rate for immigrants, but I haven't really looked in to it...
This structure of payment contributes to people taking out refund anticipation loans. 60% of people who took these out were EITC recipients:
Anyways here is the full report. Let me know if you think things have changed or if he is wrong about anything... thesocialcontract.com/docs/tsc_earne…

2/ The IFC fraternities they looked at were slightly less white at around 72%. Everywhere greeks life was at least 15% whiter than the university population as a whole.
3/ Comparison between % of undergrads who are black vs panhellenic sororities. At the schools that turned over chapter level data almost half of chapters had no black members.

2/ In the aftermath of the shooting, her father tried to figure out what policies lead to her death and teamed up with a researcher to write this book. amazon.com/Why-Meadow-Die…
3/ Here are some excerpts from this book. The book goes through all of the ways in which in which the shooting could have been prevented. If the shooter had a criminal record of one of the serious crimes that he committed he would not have been able to legally purchase a firearm.
