Here's what happens in your brain when you start meditating :

There are countless studies being done on the impact of meditation on the brain.

These are some of the ways how meditation can help you unlock superpowers in your brain :
• Increase in grey matter :

8 weeks of meditation practice can increase grey matter in your brain.

What does this mean for you:

Grey matter in the brain decreases as you age.

Simply put if you are not training your brain. Your brain is slowing down.

Meditating helps increase the grey matter in your brain which ultimately means you will be sharp even when you are old.
• Reduces activity in default mode network:

Your mind keeps jumping from one thought to the other. Right?

The DMN is responsible for it.

The DMN is “on” or active when you are not thinking about anything in particular.

What does this mean for you:

Worrying, ruminating, overthinking it's all because your default mode network is hyperactive.

With the help of meditation you can dial down the effect of the DMN.

And even if you do get lost in your thoughts you will quickly be back to the present.
• Increased volume in key areas of your brain:

A study found that in only 8 weeks there was an increase in cortical thickness in the hippocampus.

Which is responsible for learning and memory.
What does this mean for you:

Not forgetting where the keys are or not forgetting the answers to your exams.

Not end up taking a note for everything.

• Decrease in brain cell volume in the amygdala:

Among other things, the amygdala is responsible for anxiety, fear, and general stress.

With meditation, it gets physically smaller.

Yep. Physically.
What does this mean for you:

Forget about feeling anxiety, stress, worry, and depression.

• Thickens your prefrontal cortex :

Your pre-frontal cortex helps you make decisions, pay attention, regulate emotions, and be self-aware.

Meditating regularly thickens your prefrontal cortex with practice preventing it from shirking with age.
What does this mean for you:

Better decisions, extra-ordinary focus & attention span, better control over self, expanded consciousness.

It increases everything that you desire.
There is not a single doubt that meditation is good for you.

People in the east have been saying it for centuries & now even science is proving the benefits of meditation.

Don't look at life from other people's experiences.

The goal of meditation is not to stop your mind. But to create a distance between you & your mind, to become the observer.
