1/ More cases are being reported of wounded Russian and 'DNR' soldiers being imprisoned rather than receiving medical treatment. In some instances this is apparently happening as part of a military-run extortion racket. ⬇️

2/ The DNR Mobilisation Live Telegram channel reports on the case of a young man (pictured above) serving in the People's Militia of the 'Donetsk People's Republic'. He was wounded after his service contract expired and he went home to recuperate.
3/ According to the man's relatives: "Unknown people came to his home and said that he had been transferred to the 273rd battalion for pre-treatment. They promised that they would help him with paperwork and payment for the injured.
4/ "In the end, they took him away, put him in a basement, and then he left. They came again, threatened to kill him and so on. The man was unwell after the contusion, but they still treated him like that. All this is located in the village of Korsun, at 81 Sadovaya Street.

5/ "The DNR Prosecutor's Office is not moving. We have written a direct letter to the military prosecutor's office of the Russian Federation, and we hope that the DNR command will soon stop the military lawlessness and siphoning off money from the servicemen.
6/ "The First Battalion of Gorlovka [Horlivka] in general has simply set up a business: they provoke people to escape, then without any documents they keep them in cellars and cells of the former police station in Nikitovka near Zaitseve and simply extort money.
7/ "People did not sign the contract of the Russian Federation, what do they allow themselves to do? This is worse than the SS."
8/ This isn't the first time that wounded DNR soldiers have reportedly been held captive rather than receiving medical treatment (see below). Given that the DNR is a lawless zone run by gangsters, the reported extortion isn't surprising.
9/ The Zaitseve mentioned above isn't the FSB-run 'rehabilitation' facility in the Luhansk region but a different settlement of the same name in the Donetsk region. Nikitovka (or Mykytivka) is a northern suburb of Horlivka. Image
10/ ASTRA reports on a separate incident of a sick man named Ivan who was sent to Zaitseve in Luhansk after requesting medical assistance. The prison facility there has become notorious for its brutal treatment of so-called '500s' (refuseniks).
11/ According to Ivan's sister, after two Russian platoons were wiped out completely he refused to continue fighting and requested medical treatment. His father says that Ivan had complained about his stomach and his "generally poor condition" while on leave six months ago.
12/ "We went for a check-up and he was diagnosed with a 7 millimetre stomach ulcer and a cyst in his brain. But after the holiday, my son went back. Recently, he again felt very bad in his stomach, he was spitting blood.
13/ "My son went to the hospital, they gave him pills for a week, he said, what pills will help me, put me down and examine me. He was sent back to the unit, and from there the next day he was immediately taken to Zaitseve.
14/ "Update: I wanted to add separately that my son did not refuse to fight, he asked to be treated, and he agrees to fight as long as necessary."
15/ Ivan called his family on 21 August and told them that he was "being taken to Zaitseve". He has been out of contact since then. His relatives have appealed to Putin and his unit, but have not had any success so far (and nor are they likely to). /end

1/ The Russian Ministry of Defence was reportedly "rather briskly wiping Wagner out" of its projects in Africa and Syria in order to "strangle" it, prior to Yevgeny Prigozhin's death. This prompted his final and ultimately fatal visit to Moscow. ⬇️ Wagner Group mercenary in the Central African Republic
2/ The Russian investigative journalist Andrey Zakharov, who has reported previously on the Wagner Group's affairs, says that sources have told him that its overseas operations were rapidly being liquidated by the Russian government despite assurances from Putin.
3/ According to Zakharov, "Before his death, Prigozhin was allegedly told to get out of Syria together with Wagner.

1/ Deputies in Russia's State Duma are reportedly celebrating Yevgeny Prigozhin's death: "Yefim [Prigozhin] died — well, fuck him." They are in no doubt that Putin had him killed, but say they are happy about it: "we are dancing," says one deputy. ⬇️ Image
2/ The independent Russian news outlet Verstka has been interviewing Duma deputies about Prigozhin's death. "Everyone is shocked but, I would say, happy," a deputy says. His colleagues "unequivocally think it's revenge" by Putin after the Wagner Group's mutiny in June.
3/ Another deputy says "there are zero alternatives" to the theory that Putin had Prigozhin killed. He believes Prigozhin should have been eliminated two months ago after his mutiny; now, "we are dancing."

1/ A Russian marine, suffering from concussion, hearing loss and shell shock, says he was sent to Robotyne to be "disposed of". He was imprisoned and forced to pay a bribe to avoid being beaten, after he was refused medical assistance, and was then sent into a suicidal attack. ⬇️ Image
2/ ASTRA reports that two marines from the 810th Guards Naval Infantry Brigade, Zakhar Blokhin and "R.K.", were "placed in the punishment cell of the military commissariat in occupied Tokmak." They both wanted medical assistance and had said they could not continue fighting.
3/ In R.K.'s case, he "wrote a report that he could not fight due to his moral and psychological state." He says in a subsequent audio recording that he is "just having a lot of panic attacks" following two earlier concussions which likely caused traumatic brain injuries.

1/ While Yevgeny Prigozhin is away in Africa, back in Russia the Wagner Group is reportedly being looted by its managers and employees. Millions of rubles a month are said to be stolen through a variety of scams.
2/ According to the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel, the looting is being overseen by Prigozhin's deputy Valery Chekalov, under whom "the company began to actively steal assets in a variety of ways."
3/ "One of the most common ways is to accumulate so-called "dead souls" [fake employees] in the staff and receive salaries for them. Mostly financiers and accounting staff are profiting in this way. In some departments, the number of such "zero" employees reached 30-40 people.

1/ With Ukrainian drones regularly hitting Moscow, the local police are reportedly very unhappy with the anti-drone guns they have been issued. The guns are said to lack the claimed range and are considered to be a bigger threat to policemen's testicles than to UAVs. ⬇️ Image
2/ The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports that the police are "not particularly happy about the new arsenal, because, as they were told, the guns affect potency.
3/ "At the briefing the officers were told that in no case should they point the guns at people and especially shoot them below the waist – then problems with male potency are guaranteed.

1/ Russian propagandist Alexander Sladkov says that Ukraine's occupied Donetsk region is a place where "they applied everything that we talk about but cannot put into practice", and calls for a similar regime to be adopted in Russia. ⬇️
2/ In a newly published video, Slavkov praises the way that the 'Donetsk People's Republic' (DNR) deals with dissidents and offenders by imprisoning them in basements, using them for forced labour or sending them to the front line, and calls for Russia to do the same.
3/ "In the Donetsk People's Republic, especially at the dawn of its birth, they applied everything that we talk about but cannot put into practice. Well, [due to our] routine, our legality, conservatism, indecision.
