Me and @Iromg on @TalkTV talking about the latest ULEZ bad science shenanigans from @imperialcollege.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege Here is a thread about my attempt to obtain the 'data' that Gary Fuller of @imperialcollege is alleged to have 'peer reviewed'.

I have taken my complaint to the ICO, who have told the Mayor's office that they must provide the data.

@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege Here is an article outlining my objections to the 'science' underpinning the Mayor's claims, and how Gary Fuller's support for it demonstrates that institutional science may not be fit for purpose.

dailysceptic.org/2023/03/28/the…
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege Khan and his officers have called us 'Nazis' and 'deniers', and 'anti-science'. But we followed the science precisely, and found that it said that stating mortality risk of air pollution as 'deaths' was 'misleading' -- that science could not make that connection.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege So now we know that:

1. The Mayor's deputy, Shirley Rodrigues came to his office from a philanthropic foundation that hands out 100s of $Millions each year to green lobbying/campaigning organisations including @imperialcollege (approx £3 million).
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege 2. Rodrigues can be found strategising with the chief scientist of the Environmental Research Group @ Imperial, to close down science that was critical of the Mayor's policies, and arranging interviews for him, and drafting his statements, which he is 'happy' about.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege 3. Rodrigues is also found trying to get scientists at another University to alter their findings.

4. Ben Goldsmith, brother of Khan's 20165 election Rival, is a trustee Rodrigues' former employer.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege 5. That same foundation (which also funds Imperial) funds C40 Cities, with many £millions, which Khan chairs.

6. Khan's self-evaluation of his policies is 'peer reviewed' by a 'scientist' who just happens also to be a Guardian writer and green activist with a book to sell.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege So it doesn't matter who you vote for, a Goldsmith will be pulling the strings, and a billionaire's lobbying outfit -- which also funds the Guardian -- will be funding the Mayor's office and his projects, and the 'scientific' institutions that support his policies.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege They will not let you see the data. They will not let academics criticise the policies. They will mobilise their immense resources against critics. And they will not allow democratic or scientific debate.

That's not science. That's money, power, and ideology.
@Iromg @TalkTV @imperialcollege Thanks to @Iromg and @TalkTV for being an actual platform for democratic, open, public debate, and for having me on the show.

Leftoids throw their weight behind 'big oil' conspiracy theories because they have zero remaining intellectual substance, and have been drawn into regressive green ideology as the only extant critique of capitalism, despite environmentalism and the green movement in toto existing SOLELY by virtue of billionaires and financial institutions.
she calls herself a 'socialist', but if she were to investigate her own ideas, she would discover that environmentalism is a project of the world's most wealthy people against the interests of the poorest and the working/middle classes.

And then nobody would buy her book.
There are, broadly speaking, two forms of 'anticapitalism'.

The first, characterised by the 'old left' claimed to want to dismantle capitalism with either a superior or more moral model of social organisation and distribution of wealth. (No advocacy is implied here.)

My first @spikedonline article on Sadiq Khan's air pollution scare stories, from six years ago. Links to the pictures are gone, but I'll see if I can find them.

It has taken a long time for people to realise what the green agenda is about.

The Office of Budget Responsibility says that the Climate Change Committee's 2019 £1.4 trillion estimate of the costs of Net Zero are no biggie, because we've got 30 years to pay it. @OBR_UK

But the estimate is now >£1.7 trillion, thanks to inflation...

And there's no good reason for believing the @theCCCuk's estimates. National Grid ESO estimates £3 trillion, just for the power sector. That's £3.6 trillion in today's money.

If we include estimates for housing, a 2016 study on the costs of 'very deep retrofitting' -- required to make houses Net Zero compliant -- would cost the UK around £2 trillion, or £2.61 trillion in £now.

Jonathan @freedland has a conspiracy theory.

"The fossil fuel industry has spent billions on winning over the public".

HE is completely and totally wrong.

theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
@Freedland The $billions that have been spent by the green lobby vastly exceed anything that can be found flowing between oil companies and 'the public debate'.

benpile.substack.com/p/the-monolith…
@Freedland Freedland and his colleagues at the green billionaire-funded Guardian struggle to find any evidence of oil companies influencing the public debate.

In fact, they literally have to invent the evidence. They make it up by guessing.

What does it all mean? Do they even know? Is it about anything at all?

Massive style-over-substance quotient. Perhaps infinite. Infinitely deep and meaningless.
They had to produce a film to explain the meaning of their extremely expensive idents.

Q. Which UK legacy political party is going to bring reason, evidence, debate, democracy and the public's interests back to national and global energy/climate/environmental policymaking?

@Conservatives?

@UKLabour?

@LibDems?

A: None of them. They are all barking mad. Image
@Conservatives @UKLabour @LibDems As explained yesterday. They really are *all* barking mad.

And they have no reverse gear.

@Conservatives @UKLabour @LibDems Watch our @ClimateDebateUK presentation on how the UK legacy political parties gave up on the public and decided to serve themselves instead.
