For those a little bewildered.

RAAC is reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete.

A material commonly used in Europe, but which was badly made in the UK - with inadequate reinforcement and a tendency to corrode.

Failing without warning.

Used in schools, hospitals...

1/
..bridges, social housing and other places between the 1950's and the mid 1990's.

Alarms were raised in 1996 about it, and its use stopped.

Plans were put in place to replace affected buildings

Plans dumped in 2010.

2/
In 2018 SEVERE warnings were raised - and ignored by government.

In fact, it was not until last year that letters were sent out to schools asking THEM to look at their buildings.

A request for update earlier this year in Parliament was ignored.

And now?

3/
Now we have had 2 school buildings collapse in the summer.

Mere days before English schools reopen.
But AFTER Scottish schools already did.

Now we see the callousness of government clearly.

And the fear in their eyes that they be judged as they should be.

4/
It has been a torrid time for the Tories - but there is no hiding from this.

They took out threatening adverts to force children into covid unsafe environments, only for those environments to be seen to be even MORE deadly.

THEIR inaction is plain.

5/
They should reap the whirlwind - never be trusted with ANYTHING again.

Each and every one of them.

There are no excuses. This is not politics.

Damn them to Hell.

Labour allocated $55 Billion to Building future schools, 20 years ago.

The Tories killed the program with the already costed and allocated funding

13 years have passed with not a shovel lifted

And that 55 billion is gone.

Where did it go?

1/
NOW we need 20 years and £100 billion MINIMUM to rectify.

And that is ONLY schools.

Never mind the housing, courts, hospitals etc.

2/
This is from a 2010 Guardian article on the matter.

Can you sense it yet?

The sheer panic of Tories about schools RAAC?

The drip feed of affected buildings to minimise impact?

100 yesterday, 165 today - 250 Monday?

Figures no longer spoken about as issue unfolds

No blame being laid at Labour's door

1/
The surety that they kept it quiet before the summer because they couldn't raise it - for political reasons?

Knowing full well that hospitals, public buildings and bridges would ALSO come to light?

2/
Knowing THEY had cancelled 715 school building projects in 2010?

Under their fake "austerity" program?

Knowing that those figures were rubbish, and austerity would make us poorer?

But couldn't say so - because it didn't fit their narrative?

Let's have a chat about Uxbridge.

The Tories won it by the skin of their teeth - a seat that is as blue as they come.

And spun that win into a lie.

It's a neat trick from the Tories(and Labour fall for it every time).

1/
1) Absolutely destroy the policy THEY introduced and THEY forced Khan to implement by making TfL funding which Johnson slashed as he left office dependant on expanding ULEZ.

2) Claim loudly that their anti ULEZ stance was the main factor in their retention of Uxbridge

2/
3) "Forcing" Starmer to react, which he did - by saying he would block the expansion etc etc

(You cannot win on populism, Kier - the Tories know that it cannot be arbitrarily overturned in one city)

This is tantamount to mass murder, more so when you consider there will be NO target for early diagnosis.

Unlike the pandemic policies (lives lost for "the grater good") THIS is incurring unnecessary loss of life through financially motivated choice.

But it is NOT illegal

You see, the 2012 Health & Social Care Act REMOVED the legal obligation to provide healthcare from government.

🧵/2 Image
And THAT @mrjamesob @LBC is the real answer to your question of whether the government is really trying to destroy the NHS.

They are because that 2012 Act TELLS US they are.

More, it tells us they have no intent of REPLACING what we already have.

I think we need to think about were we are now with regard to covid & the NHS,

And where we could have been instead.

Bear with me - I think we are actually be in a far worse place now.

I want you to consider what actions would have been taken had Sunak been PM in 2019

1/
First though, consider this

The 2012 Health & Social Care Act removed the obligation to provide healthcare in England

An action that will keep many at the Dept of Health out of jail.

No crime can therefore have been committed regarding provision and preventative measures

2/ Image
It can be argued then, the Johnson went above & beyond what was LEGALLY required.

Not through any sense of ethics - far more likely this is the chink in his armour.

That he want's his legacy - want's to be remembered well.

It may well be his card was marked then.

Tests for Legionaires were taken prior to on-boarding to the barge.

But @RobertJenrick did not wait for the results.

Remember Margaret Ferrier?

The MP ousted & facing criminal charges for travelling to London by train instead of waiting for the results of her covid test?

1/
Well, @RobertJenrick is FAR worse.

The Legionaires test is almost certainly a regulatory requirement.

Which, I think, makes this reckless endangerment.

But the Minister for Immigration did not wait for the results.

He should be removed from position with immediate effect.

2/
The Home Office -
@SuellaBraverman
being the Secretary of State that
@RobertJenrick
is under - is now saying people have been moved off as a precaution.

That's a lie.

They are being moved off as a NECESSITY.

The precaution was the test.
