My interview with Shannon Harris is at the top of @Slate's homepage. We talked about her new book, which covers the inner world of a life, her life, wedged into a model of 'biblical' womanhood. slate.com/human-interest…
We discussed how she was portrayed in Joshua Harris's books, complementarianism, the turmoil within Sovereign Grace as allegations flew, the way women were expected to carry marriages (esp. via six), and the mental toll of it all. #IKDG
Our conversation was raw and honest, and I was thrilled to talk with her. I think due to the release dates, I'm seeing people pair our books, and it's such a gift to see Disobedient Women stand alongside The Woman They Wanted, as Shannon shows her brave walk into her fuller self.

Continuing on with folks featured in #DisobedientWomen, today it's Dee Parsons (@wartwatch) from Wartburg Watch. You may already know her for her research, breaking many stories before traditional media, or her necessary humor.
@wartwatch Dee was the sort to debate evolution in Sunday School at her Baptist church. (An argument carefullly coded as “younger earth” versus “older earth” creationists.) She delighted in rigor and Star Trek–each, in their way, inspiration for her faith.
@wartwatch She might have fun engaging in heated theological discussion, but she loved her church and trusted the leaders. Then, in 2006, Brian "Doug" Goodrich, a volunteer intern with the youth at her church was arrested after trying to lure a 13 year old into a sexual encounter.
