1) SRK was the doyen of frenzied promotions of movies. Be it giving dozens of interviews, array of city tours, being on the cover of every magazine and bombarding news channels with promos & news of his films.

He was Omnipresent when other stars were too blase or plain lazy in promoting their films. Every STAR took a leaf out of SRK's book when it comes to marketing their films.

But in his SECOND INNINGS, SRK has completely stayed away from giving interviews and holding media interactions to AVOID stirring unnecessary CONTROVERSIES,which had bogged him down since 2015, before the release of his films.

He realised that in the age of DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA, thumping trailers & #AskSRK sessions are enough to create buzz & excitement.

How #SRK has used social media to promote his films is a masterclass. He has started a new trend in marketing films which will be followed by other stars.

2) The last decade was the LOWEST POINT in his career. Especially post 2014, most of his films flopped or underperformed. BUT THE STARDOM WAS INTACT.

It was the choice of subjects which was letting SRK down at the ticket windows. Most of his films barring CHENNAI EXPRESS & HAPPY NEW YEAR, had either niche content or outmoded genres.

Films like FAN & ZERO had niche content which had stringent commercial restrictions. Also, after he turned 45, the NEUTRAL audience didn't want to see him in frothy romantic roles like JAB HARRY MET SEJAL. The romantic genre itself had gone out of gear.

Salman Khan was doing MAMMOTH mainstream EVENT FILMS with scale & style, while SRK was doing niche content.

After the debacle of ZERO, SRK understood that it was time to reinvent himself and join the bandwagon of pulsating ACTION FILMS with substance.

Hence the films like PATHAAN & JAWAN. His next 'DUNKI' is also a social film, not a niche or romantic one. 3/n

3) In the last decade, SRK had become extremely sensitive to all the negativity around him and he reacted to most of the things that were being said about him by some former friends & envious rivals.

However, post ZERO, SRK cut out all the toxic 'friends' and decided to completely slink away from negativity. He stopped reacting to negativity & inane chatter about him which were taking away his attention, energy & time.

Instead, he resolutely decided to have a single-minded focus on his selection of films & work. He infused all nks energy into his work and strategising his COMEBACK.

Now, the results are there for everyone to see... 4/n

4) Till 2010, SRK thrived on his image of "ROMANTIC HERO". Of course, in between he did some off-kilter films such as CHAKE DE INDIA & SWADES, but his name was mostly associated with ROMANCE.

But in cinema, just like in life, one needs to REINVENT after a while to stay relevant & prolong career.

He deliberately made a strategic shift to films like PATHAAN & JAWAN to break out of his perceived image.

Not only high-octane ACTION films have been the flavour of the season but they also give a unique dimension to SRK & his onscreen image.

Having said that, SRK brought his own humour & flavour of personality in these films so they don't look run-of-the-mill stuff.

This newfangled ACTION HERO avatar has extended his stardom for at least 10 more years. 5/5
