Jews in the US love to talk about antisemitism. That's b/c it makes Jews out to be victims.

Jews in the US don't love to talk about privilege.

Yet my *personal* experience as a Jew in the US is one of tremendous privilege, blessing & support, not of victimhood. A 🧵

Most American Jews live in communities w/ strong communal institutions that support underprivileged families and households. I benefited from this significantly. My family got money so I could go to Jewish school and Jewish summer camp.

I was informed during my senior year of high school that I received a $20,000 scholarship for college -- a scholarship I didn't even apply for.

I was automatically eligible as a Jewish student at my high school for having done nothing other than be born Jewish.

Many Americans harbor positives attitudes towards Jews. They think we are hard-working, smart, non-complainers just because we are Jewish. See, for example, Nick Huber's (@sweatystartup) tweet this morning. How come Jews don't talk about this secret benefit we get?

Most American Jews are white: i.e we r likely to be assumed to be competent. less likely to die giving birth. more likely to hired, get a mortgage. Libraries of books have been written about this. Being white is a massive massive privilege. How come jews don't talk about this?

I'm sharing my *personal* experiences as a Jew in the US. What were yours? please share.

I'm sharing this is b/c there is a huge disconnect for me b/w just how much talk there is of antisemitism & just how blessed & privileged my life as a Jew has been & most Jews I grew up w.

@QueenMab87 there is a movement right now to try to label criticism of israel as antisemitism. but i'm the one not "framing" things correctly? ok
