in March, Bausman launched an online-only show called "Open Microphone" with Maxim Grigoriev, the FSB "co-optee." I'm not sure what's going on with the project (it's mainly on Telegram), but Grigoriev's foundation received Russian government funding for a project by the same name
there's a lot of interviews here, but here's another highlight: Bausman joined an once-Prigozhin-tied organization — called, yes, the "FBI" — to complain about how he's stuck in Russia because he might be arrested in the United States for his role in the Capitol riot.
I reached out to the Foundation to Battle Injustice through the only contact form on their website — for "dissidents" — but didn't receive a response about how they intend to carry on operations after Prigozhin's death.
I FOIA'd Bausman's trash bill for some reason
Bausman and Grigoriev are among some of the people pushing an extraordinarily niche initiative to encourage people from NATO countries to move to Russia. "woke" culture runs rampant there, apparently.
a big shout out to a lot of people here (especially @MichaelEHayden's past reporting on Bausman), but also again a deep thanks to @NataliaAntonova for her help on translation/fact checking this.
@MichaelEHayden @NataliaAntonova I'll do a newsletter on why the US far-right loves Russia at some point, but since I started gathering string for this and pt. 1 over a year ago, I'm going to go chill for a moment thanks

i delved into a niche effort by a handful of american expats in russia to lobby the russian government to encourage US conservatives to move there. among its supporters are an orthodox priest who collaborates with jan. 6 riot participant charles bausman.
these expats include an american orthodox priest who has edited a pro-kremlin religious site run by charles bausman. bausman fled to russia in 2021 after appearing among the rioters in the jan. 6 insurrection and has a long, somewhat sprawling history, of radical right activism.
in february, bausman, gleason, and others joined a panel organized by a russian politician with "a just russia — for truth" party. the panel was intended "to help american and european refugees affected by discrimination against traditional values."
@ColborneMichael@jason_a_w rundo faces extradition to the united states on charges stemming from a series of alleged attacks at alt-right events in 2017.
rundo has referred to himself as "on the run" and compared himself to fictional character jason bourne. (he'd prefer to be james bond, he said.)
@ColborneMichael@jason_a_w we close with a quote of rundo trying to solve the "optics" debate (if you have no idea what i'm talking about, that's fine, you're a normal person)
NEW: leaked chats show brandon russell, the founder of atomwaffen division, encouraging others to engage in infrastructure attacks in the several months prior to his arrest in early february.
@jason_a_w@Hatewatch the chats range from july to november of 2022, and show three accounts that we tied to russell sharing maps of US infrastructure (specifically electricity and railways) and PDFs with instructions on how to attack infrastructure to a tight-knit group of terroristic neo-nazis.
@jason_a_w@Hatewatch we believe we identified the 14-page PDF cited in russell's criminal complaint as having "provided instructions on how to attack critical infrastructure." the russell-tied accounts were the main ones circulating this text among "terrorgram" users on telegram this summer.
taibbi et al. can get mad about their little stunt being portrayed as PR, but no real journalist would take and then use a computer provided to them by a source as if it's a gift like this. nothing about this is ethical.
lots of people seem to be misunderstanding this -- not saying it's gone forever, not saying its impact on the GOP is disappearing, not saying anything is returning to "normal," whatever that is. but it's clear trump as we knew him in 2016 doesn't carry the same power.
whatever mutation of trump's movement that comes after this isn't going to be pretty, and could quite possibly be worse. but again, see above.
already off to a good start — the leftist protesters sound like they were written by someone who hasn’t talked to anyone left of john mccain in their life, and there are strippers in the first ten minutes
honestly given the amount of strippers in the first 10-15 minutes i think i can safely conclude that this movie was written for conservative boomers who are jealous of fictional hunter biden’s lifestyle but would never admit it
