I’ve obtained a document that appears to detail anonymous allegations made about Kendi and his center in 2021.
The person alleges “a pattern of silence and secrecy” and claims employees were “afraid of going against Dr. Kendi.”
🧵
The anonymous reporter, a faculty member, also alleges Kendi was “using tenure as a ‘pressure point’ to get Junior faculty to work for him” even though he didn’t “have any control over their tenure cases.”
The faculty member alleges “frequent resignations and extremely high turnover because of employee morale.”
This person apparently said, "there are at least 3 if not 4 women of color who have this week resigned or are on the brink of resignation. It's getting really bad."
According to the document, “The reporter alleged that Dr. Kendi changes the terms of faculty member's working arrangements after the fact.”
More to come…

Stanford has updated its third admissions essay prompt:
“Please describe what aspects of your life experiences, interests and character would help you make a distinctive contribution as an undergraduate to Stanford University.”
Here is what the prompt said last year:
“Tell us about something that is meaningful to you and why.”
University of Miami:
“embraces diversity and inclusivity in all its forms and strives to create a culture of belonging.”
“Please describe how your unique experiences, challenges overcome, or skills acquired would contribute to our distinctive University community.”
A current Berkeley Law job ad states: “Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and skill related to ensuring equity and inclusion in the activities of their academic position (e.g., teaching, research, and service, as applicable).”
So, already that’s more than teaching. It includes research and service.
“What we call looting, I think of as just getting what you’re due.”
That’s what an Assistant Vice Provost for Educational Equity at Penn State allegedly told faculty in a “Conversation on Racial Climate” after George Floyd was killed, according to a lawsuit filed this month.
It sounds like something @ConceptualJames, @HPluckrose, and @peterboghossian might make up, but the lawsuit claims this person led participants in a breathing exercise and “expressed her intention to cause Penn State's white faculty to ‘feel the pain’ that George Floyd endured”:
The plaintiff in the suit is a former English professor who claims that Penn State created a “racially hostile environment” in which he was pressured to grade students differently based on race and subjected to repeated trainings that targeted him as a white person.
Harvey Mansfield addresses the Harvard class of ‘23.
“Is anything lost by being woke? Yes, let me suggest there is. Instead of arguing the point, one begins to search for character defects and pounce when they are found.” 1/4
“You blind yourself by taking offense because in doing so you are led to simplify the justice you think is so unquestionable. Instead of thinking about what justice might require, you try to shame opposition out of existence.” 2/4
“Believing that justice is easy to think, you begin to believe it is easy to apply. You conclude that slavery was as easy to abolish as to denounce today after it is abolished.” 3/4
