Let's talk about the #Delphi investigation.

Specifically, let's talk about experts.

It should come as no surprise that the taskforce investigating the double homicide have been less than enthusiastic about utilizing support and assistance of outside experts.

So much so...

That in April '17, the taskforce turned down the assistance and outright dismissed the expert opinion offered to them by one "Lois Gibson".

What makes Lois Gibson's opinion so special and "expert"?

Lois Gibson worked as a forensic artist with the Houston Police Department from 1982 until her retirement in 2021.

HPD is the largest LE agency in the State of Texas and the 5th largest LE agency in the United States.

Most homicide detectives would be content to retire having caught a few hundred criminals in their lifetime.

In her 4+ decades with HPD, Gibson's forensic portraits and expert eye helped positively identify 751 criminals and secure over 1,000 convictions.

Gibson currently holds the Guinness World Record for "Most criminals positively identified due to the composites of one artist"

To say that Lois Gibson is the #1 most expert forensic artist in the entire world would be an accurate statement.

At the age of 21, Gibson was brutally attacked by a serial rapist and murderer in Los Angeles.

Lucky to be alive, Gibson left CA and moved to Houston, TX, where she obtained a Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas.

In the early weeks of the investigation, Gibson was contacted by a member of LE who requested her assistance and expert opinion on the physical characteristics of "Bridge Guy", captured in a blurry photo just moments before the murders.

The individual in the comparison photo above is Ronald Logan, the owner of the property where the girls' deceased bodies were located on Feb 14, 2017.

Personal opinions on Logan's involvement aside, there are several indisputable things to keep in mind:

- Ronald Logan was 6'0" tall, per his DL and court records
- Gibson refers to the physical characteristics of Logan and Bridge Guy (BG) as "strikingly similar"
- Gibson determined that BG and Logan are "of similar height"

- #RichardAllen stands at 5'4" tall, per his DL and sworn attorney statements
- In both the Search Warrant and PCA, Detective Tony Liggett swears and affirms - in no uncertain terms - that he "believes Richard M. Allen is the individual on the bridge"

The glaring and confounding problem here?

There is an 8 inch height discrepancy between the man that Lois Gibson identifies as BG (Ronald Logan) and the man that Detective Tony Liggett identifies as BG (Richard Allen)

What else do we know for certain so far?

We know that Lois Gibson is the world's foremost expert on forensic drawing, sketches, art, et al.

We know that Gibson's expert eye and forensic talent has resulted in the accurate identification of over 750 criminals.

We know that in the 40+ years she was with HPD, Gibson's record of professionalism, competence, ethics and accuracy of identification are unimpeachable.

We know that when identifying who is in a photograph, Gibson's technique relies on EXCLUSION rather than inclusion -

That is, proving an individual in question is NOT the subject in a photograph, and trying to ELIMINATE them based on physical features, rather than vice versa:

- Neither Liggett nor Holeman have any experience or training in forensic art/identification

- Regardless of how you view the recent #Delphi disclosures and developments, the credibility, competence, or BOTH, of these 2 detectives should raise serious doubt and concerns.

Whether or not you agree with Lois Gibson's expert conclusion as to the identity of BG, ask yourself this:

Is it reasonable to believe that someone of Gibson's skillset, experience, and proven record of outstanding accuracy, would not only be wrong in her identification...

But be wrong by 8 full inches?

If we are to choose between the conclusion and determination of one Lois Gibson,

and the conclusion and determination of one Tony Liggett...

My money's on Gibson.

Experts matter.

Experts solve homicides.
