2020, the NYT: “In a disturbing parallel to HIV, coronavirus can cause a depletion of important immune cells.”

2022: “SARS-CoV-2 causes more T-cell death than HIV.”

2023, the Merck Manual: “Like HIV, SARS-CoV-2 causes lymphocytopenia.”

Corporate overlords: “It’s a cold. 😈”
People are having trouble finding the citations so I will link them. Massive thread:
Huh. “Recurrent viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infections” you say? And more reinfections don’t cure this? How curious. merckmanuals.com/professional/h…
A single Google search result: “Lymphocytopenia is most often due to AIDS, and recently COVID-19, or undernutrition, but it also may be inherited or caused by various infections, drugs, or autoimmune disorders. Patients have recurrent viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infections. https://www.merckmanuals.com › l... Lymphocytopenia - Hematology and Oncology - Merck Manuals
NIH, March 2023: “These findings suggest that SARS-CoV-2 infection damages the CD8+ T cell response, an effect akin to that observed in earlier studies showing long-term damage to the immune system after infection with viruses such as hepatitis C or HIV.” nih.gov/news-events/ne…
This article is almost a year old. Those who have been desperately trying to warn everyone were viciously attacked.

“He hypothesized that the virus, by harming the immune system, could make people more vulnerable to other infections and cancers.” thetyee.ca/Analysis/2022/…
As western LongCovid patients quietly swap stories about bloodwork that look like they have advanced AIDS, For the last year & a half or so, China has been giving HIV drugs to adults with Covid.

Western countries have not, & the clock is ticking. scmp.com/news/china/sci…
Sure, “it’s just a cold,” but so are acute HIV infections. If left untreated, HIV becomes AIDS in like a decade, give or take.

Meanwhile, people are experiencing full-blown AIDS after three Covid infections.
“Scientists have also noted that our immune system weakens after infection and even more so after reinfection, leading to other non-COVID causes of death such as bacterial or other viral infections.” theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…
Which is more likely? Our corporate overlords will acknowledge we permanently maimed everyone, & billions & trillions of dollars will be lovingly donated to help everyone live to old age, disabled, OR Capitalism will find a way to kill us all as quickly as possible to save money?
Private equity, while investing in disability services, guardianships & conservatorships, hospices, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, mental health, the “troubled kids” industry, prisons, & nursing homes: “It’s just a cold. The more you get it, the more money we will make. 😈”
Ta-da! It has been over 6 months since we heard SARS-CoV-2 causes “long-term damage to immune systems.” This news was rapidly memory-holed, just like it was in 2020.

We’ve been eagerly reinfecting everyone, including our kids, ever since. infectioncontroltoday.com/view/covid-19-…

Changes were made to Covid dot gov.

The funniest part of all is we’re going to call it a LAB LEAK, & then we’re going to do absolutely nothing to mitigate it, prevent it, or to assist the families who continue to be affected by it. No one will be spared. White House: THE ORIGIN “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” publication — which was used repeatedly by public health officials and the media to discredit the lab leak theory — was prompted by Dr. Fauci to push the preferred narrative that COVID-19 originated naturally.
We’re going to call it a LAB LEAK, and then we’re going to blame vaping when people continue to die of it.
China has been giving people repurposed HIV drugs for COVID since 2022.

The US can’t make money off this, so we get ineffective Paxlovid instead. Though our approach isn’t working, we continue to double down because it’s profitable. The “lab leak” discourse will change nothing.

Did a Bait & Switch just occur? Lately I’m noticing everyone’s opinions are backwards. I heard a left-leaning YouTuber say “Aside from faith & family, the flexibility of working from home & homeschooling is still important to conservatives,” while insinuating this is no longer important to the left. Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of content designed to convince us remote work/learning, public health protections, & public health in general are unimportant to the left.

This is 2 years after we learned American worker productivity was declining at the fastest rate in 75 years, school attendance was plummeting—“Covid looks to have severed something,” & CEOs announced they would be actively coming to rid the country of Work From Home. 🧵
When we learned remote work was cutting NYC office value by half, we began hearing remote work was morally wrong & leading to daytime drugs and drinking habits.

“Who really benefits from the Great Remote Work Experiment?” 🥴 New York Post: “Elon Musk rips remote work as bullshit and morally wrong” May 16, 2023 Patrick Reilly

I tend to believe we are FINALLY experiencing the consequences of ignoring unprecedented record disease/disability/death for 5 years, but we are blaming this very predictable collapse on other things & individuals, while dutifully pretending all our problems have nothing to do with the choices we made over the last 5 years.

The wounds are self-inflicted. Sadly, Both Sides of the political aisle work directly for corporations & billionaires, not us. We live & die to maintain their record corporate profits, & we exist at their pleasure. We are becoming too expensive to maintain in the present conditions, especially since everyone is sick & getting sicker. So we turn a blind eye as people die en masse. As middle schoolers die in public, we call it “natural causes.” As young adults die in record numbers, we call it “God’s Plan.” As Boomers die off while still working multiple jobs to survive (instead of retiring), we pretend it’s all very normal. Eventually we will be replaced by AI so the elite can continue living well, uninterrupted, despite the poors dying out. But we won’t get the privilege of seeing it coming or calling it what it is, we will be forced to pretend we can’t possibly know why it’s happening, & told we can’t possibly afford to find a solution.

The End.
I made a thread. When we started hearing American worker productivity was declining at the fastest rate in 75 years, media began churning out anti-WFH articles with headlines like, “Remote Work Comes With Daytime Drugs & Drinking Habits.”

The wounds are self-inflicted.
For a brief moment in time, we acknowledged “Covid looks to have permanently severed something,” and then we pretended it away.

The pretending is finally catching up to us.
