GAZA IS UNDER ATTACK! In the past hour, at least 8 Palestinians have been killed and 44 injured, including 5-year-old child Alaa Qadoum, in Zionist airstrikes on several locations throughout Occupied Gaza. (1/6)
The Zionist entity bears full responsibility for the escalation against Gaza, which it is carrying out in an attempt to undo the rebuilding efforts and political reunification that have taken place since the popular uprisings of May 2021 and the Sword of Jerusalem Battle. (2/6)
Palestinians remain united in this effort to beat back yet another show of Zionist aggression, and stand unequivocally with our resistance as they attempt to repel the Occupiers. (3/6)
Yesterday, Zionist forces murdered Ghufran Warasneh, a 31 year old journalist from Al-Arroub camp near Hebron. She was the eldest in her family and the main support for her younger siblings.
Ghufran was going to her first day of work at a new job at a local radio station when she was shot in the chest.
โWe were waiting for her to be the first to go on air as our new voice, but instead we received the news of her killing." The station said.
Ghufran is the second journalist killed by occupation forces in less than a month, after the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh.
Mourners in Ghufranโs community were attacked by the Zionist army as they were carrying her body to burial, much like what occurred during Shireenโs funeral.
Salah Hammouri is a Palestinian-French lawyer & activist who's played a central role in the struggle for justice for Jerusalem's residents. Bcuz of this, he's been harassed by Israeli authorities for 20 years & now faces expulsion.
The next 2 days are crucial for him!
Thread๐งต
For years he's been separated from his French wifeโwho is barred from entering the country to visitโ& kids, has spent more than 7 years inside Israeli jail as a political prisoner after multiple arrests and was even stripped of his residence card, restricting his freedom of mvmt
On March 7 Hammouri was placed in administrative detention by Zionist forces. Now, after living his entire life in Jerusalem, the Zionist regime is revoking Salahโs residency under the pretext of their โBreach of Allegianceโ law
Japanese freedom fighter Fusako Shigenobu was released from prison in Japan today after 20 years in detention. She is lifelong comrade of the Palestinian people and struggle.
Shigenobu was born in Tokyo in 1945 & first became radicalized as part of the โ60s student movement in Japan, where she led organizing efforts against US imperialism in Japan & globally. Shigenobu eventually joined Palestinians in Lebanon to fight alongside them for over 30 years
..in their struggle to liberate Palestine. When Shigenobu was arrested for her revolutionary work, she told onlooking crowds, โIโll fight on!โ Even when on trial, she never wavered in her principled commitment to anti-imperialism and the Palestinian struggle.
Today marks the 5th anniversary of the martyrdom of intellectual and resistance fighter Basel al-Araj by zionist forces. Basel was a community organizer who engaged Palestinian youth in popular education about the history of Palestinian resistance.
In 2016, Basel, along with 5 of his comrades, was arrested, tortured, and interrogated by Palestinian Authority police for his powerful political writing and agitation against the PAโs normalization with the zionist state.
The men, who were held without charge, went on hunger strike to protest their detention. The hunger strike, along with a public campaign for their release, eventually pressured the PA into letting them walk free.
