1/ The radical left is already using the "paragliding terrorist" as a symbol for the exact same reason they use the picture of Communist leader Che Guevara on t-shirts:
To normalize it's use as a leftist symbol so the idea of it gets absorbed into the edges of the discourse.
2/ They want to use it so that it no longer becomes a shocking thing to see, and we become accustomed to it's use as a symbol for leftist and decolonial causes.
The idea is to "normalize" the symbol so that the ideas remain at the edge of the discourse to be brought back later.
3/ By normalizing the use of Che Guevara and the paraglider as general symbols of resistence, they keep them in the edges of the discourse without having to explicitly endorse and defend their tactics.
The ideas then are not entirely removed from the discourse.
4/ This effectively allows them to keep the ideas "stored" in the symbolism of their movement, ready to be brought out, put to use, and defended when they think the time is right.
By storing the idea in the imagery, they can effectively "freeze" the idea in their symbols...
5/ And when it's convenient they can "thaw" the idea out by saying "here is where this symbol comes from, it is time to get back to our roots...."
Then they use the symbol as a way into talking about the virtues of Che Guevara's Communist tactics and paragliding terrorists...
6/ We can't allow them to use these symbols without defending those tactics and ideas.
We need to do to the Che t-shirt, the hammer sickle, and the paragliding terrorist, what we have done to the swas-tika: eject it from polite society and make it repugnant to everyone.
7/ Any org that uses the paragliding terrorist as a symbol of "freedom" needs to be made into a pariah.
That is our goal.

force a refresh
1/ I just came from protest where there was both a parents rights group and a trans rights group.
I had water dumped on me and I got spat on.
I learned some things. A short 🧵
2/ Until you've been counter-protested by screaming people who have to be seperated from you by police, you don't know what it's like to try to give a speech or talk.
It is also incredibly difficult to keep your composure, and keep the "fight or flight" system under control.
3/ The trans protestors were consistently pushing boundaries and engaging in low level antagonism (unplugging equipment, pouring water on me, etc) in order to try and provoke (remember, the real action is your targets reaction)
Many woke "social justice" activists and academics are cheering on Hamas attack on Israel as an act of DECOLONIZATION, all while justifying, ignoring, and minimizing the rape and murder of women and children.
So, let's talk about Decolonization,
A Thread🧵
2/ To begin we must understand that"decolonize" is a well defined term-of-art that comes out of something called "postcolonial theory"
This means that even though the term has begun to pop up in mainstream discourse (see pic) it comes loaded with an entire worldview and ideology
3/ So what is the ideology behind post-colonial theory?
Post-Colonial Theory is one of the big-three sub-domains of Critical Social Justice (AKA, "woke") Scholarship along with "Critical Race Theory" and "Queer Theory"
As such it shares similar intellectual DNA with CRT and QT
1/ Woke activists and "Social Justice" types say the whole of American culture is:
-systemically racist
-a patriarchy
-a rape culture
But when Hamas rapes women, murders children, and kidnaps the elderly, all of the sudden they can't draw any conclusions about THAT culture.
2/ The woke claim the entire culture of America is racist, sexist, misogynist, transphobic, homophobic, bigoted, patriarchal, anti-semitic, etc and so it must be completely dismantled "root and branch."
They clearly have *zero* problems making judgements about entire cultures...
3/ But when Hamas militants round up civillians, kidnap senior citizens, rape concer goers, murder children, and then parade their csptives before cheering crowds of people celebraring this attack....well golly, they just can't come to any conclusions at all about THAT culture.
Hamas doesn't have a 20th century liberal mindset. So the model for what Hamas is doing is not Dutch/French resistance during WW2, or the American Civil War
Look at the women Hamas kidnaped; this is a revenge driven Bronze Age style raid of enemy territory for women and weapons
Taliban fighters who got border of peace and desk jobs (pic 1) are asking to Iran to let them conquer Jerusalem (pic 2).
Why? because peace is not the goal here.
This is, literally, a Bronze Age mindset in which conquering the enemy and seeking glory is the goal.
This is an attempt at a slave taking, woman stealing, city burning, "sacking" of Israel according to a Bronze Age moral code in which conquering your enemies and taking territory is considered to be good.
That is what is happening here. Trying to think about this as though....
1/ The postmodern worldview is at the early stages of becoming played out.
Woke platitudes, and thought terminating Clichés (you're a transphobe!) no longer hold the charge they once did, and people are getting sick of wokeness.
Therapy culture is also losing its power...
2/ Posmodernism is philosophically idealistic (focusing on ideas, discourse, language, and social phenomena) and subjectivist (focusing on subjective rather then objective phenomena. So it brings with it a focus on attitudes, thoughts, experience, emotions, motives, and feelings
3/ And other psychological phenomena
Thus, in a postmodern world when people experience pain or failure they focus on either fixing the social systems through activism, or fixing their mental health by using therapy to heal from the "trauma" caused by their negative experience
1/ Wokeness is beginning to lose it's cultural power.
The Bud Light and Target boycott's are starting to make the business world think twice about it's cynical embrace of wokeness, and the Johnny Depp and Trevor Bauer cases are doing the same thing in entertainment and sports...
2/ But that doesn't mean the "woke" is going to go away.
The academic world has tripled down on woke ideology, and there is still an entire multi-billion dollar industry of "diversity, equity, and inclusion," that entrenched in societyand operates at every level of government.
3/ So, here's something you all need to know:
**There is not going to be some final massive battle on which we will finally defeat wokeness, and where we wokeness admits defest and goes away.**
Yes, woke is starting to lose it's cultural energy, clout, and power.
