[1] BREAKING: 2.5 hours ago a bulldozer demolished 3 water cisterns and 2 water tanks in the Palestinian village of Susya in the South Hebron Hills. In addition to uprooting many trees and sealing up one of the caves of the community.

[2] The bulldozer is also blocking almost all access roads to the community.

[3] The madness of this story is that the driver of this bulldozer is Ynon Levy, a settler from the nearby unauthorised outpost - Meitarim Farm. See my post here about him.

[4] Ynon arrived in Susya accompanied by men in IDF uniform. When the lawyer representing the Susya residents spoke to the ICA, he was told that they are unaware of any enforcement activity in Susya.
[5] All this is happening despite a promise from the State to the Supreme Court to not carry out any demolitions in the village of Susya until further notice.

This is the maddening reality in the West Bank these days.

[2] In recent years, the settler community, led by @RegavimEng (co-founded by Smotrich) has been working to undo Oslo by fighting Palestinian development in Area C and cementing Israeli permanent rule there.
[3] Let’s remember that according to the Oslo Accords (XI, 3, c), Area C was supposed to “be gradually transferred to Palestinian jurisdiction” (within 18 months of signing and with the exception of “issues that will be negotiated in the permanent status negotiations”).
