Surveillance camera footage from Netiv Haasara shows a large barrage of rockets being launched from northern Gaza, followed by a massive blast in the Strip, apparently caused by a failed projectile.

Another video from Al Jazeera appears to show the same failed rocket.

The IDF says it has identified a dramatic decrease in attempts by Palestinian Islamic Jihad to launch mortars at southern communities near the border with the Gaza Strip.

"We detected a 50 percent reduction in attempts to launch mortars into Israeli territory, compared to previous rounds against Islamic Jihad, says the commander of the IDF Gaza Divison’s so-called “fire center,” which coordinates the unit’s offensive operations.

The officer, Lt. Col. 'Ayin', says the unit has so far foiled eight attempts by Islamic Jihad cells or individuals to carry out anti-tank guided missile attacks on the border during the current escalation.

IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari tells reporters Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip killed 16 militants and 10 civilians, and another 4 civilians were killed by Islamic Jihad rockets that fell short.

Hagari says nobody in Islamic Jihad has immunity.

Regarding the rocket that hit Rehovot, killing one, he says there was a technical issue that caused the interceptor missile not to hit the incoming projectile.

Home Front Command restrictions still valid till 14:00, but IDF will assess the situation in the coming hours and decide if need to keep them, or even extend them, despite no rockets.
