And we now have footage of the (partially) burnt-out parking lot at the Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

Overall damage to the structures in the complex appears to be limited, a clay-tiled awning adjacent to the parking lot is still mostly intact. Image

Insightful graphic from the Washington Post tracking damaging Israeli strikes in the Gaza Strip.

The bulk are north of the Wadi Gaza evacuation line in Gaza city, with Beit Hanoun, Jabalya, and Rimal taking extensive damage.
Image
Of note, Israeli evacuation orders for areas of Beit Hanoun and Al Shati camp were issued on the 8th.

The area around Abasan al Jadida, which saw some of the more significant strikes in the south, had also received evacuation warnings from the Israelis.

I think at some point, either now or in the near future, the international media as a whole should step back and do a postmortem of what happened over the last 36 hours.

There are absolutely deep lessons that should be taken from this.
Organizations should probably take a dive into what happened inside of their newsrooms for the first 12 hours, and really understand the points where things broke down.

Because no matter what actually happened on the ground, the media response was poor.
Absent of governmental statements, what facts emerged in the first few hours? What could be independently confirmed? What source material was making it out into published work? What did we actually know?

Full pull of 50cm SkySat imagery via @SkyWatchApps showing the Ahli Hospital in Gaza City on 10/17 and 10/18.

Imagery from the afternoon of 10/18 can be seen below. The central courtyard and parking area have been highlighted in red. Image
Looking closer primarily serves to confirm that IDF aerial imagery and local Gazan media images were accurate. The surrounding buildings are primarily intact, and rooftop solar panels remain attached. Image
I will note that imagery from the day of the explosion (10/17) shows a bit better of a look into the courtyard.

The courtyard itself appears to be fairly empty, this may be because IDPs were primarily using it for overnight shelter. Image

Somewhat major news- Russian Air Force adjacent telegram channel Fighterbomber confirms a large Ukrainian attack last night, alluding to serious losses.

Ukrainian forces reportedly targeted Berdyansk and Luhansk airfields, both heavily populated by Russian aviation assets. Image

Brady did a great breakdown, Berdyansk was heavily populated by rotary wing assets.

I think one thing that has to be noted about the terror attack last week by Hamas near the Gaza border was both its planning and scale.

Today, the IDF released additional images of captured systems, including dozens of RPG warheads, massive EFP IEDs, and various small arms. Image
I think some have the narrative that the overall success of the attack was surprising, but Hamas clearly had deeply planned and massed resources for a massive attack, where the outcome seen wasn't a reach at all.
Info cards for the ID and destruction of IDF systems were also produced, in line with the PG-7VR and EFP IEDs Image

Since everyone is trying to use the Salah Al Deen Gaza Wadi bridge explosion tweet to cudgel each other with things I did not say, even using it to deny another strike 5 miles away, I am going to remake the entire thread here, super fucking clearly.

Here is the explosion.
Note when the explosion happens, there is a significant fireball. This is highly inconsistent with conventional explosives delivered by air.

This is far more consistent with a gas canister explosion. Image
Now watch closer. You can see an exploding gas canister rocket out of the left side of the vehicle.
