For 🇺🇸 Jewish ppl like me who grew up going to synagogue, we were exposed to constant Zionist propaganda from a young age, even in “progressive” synagogues

Ex: I was taught that Israel is “A land without a people for a people without a land” — truly genocidal colonial erasure

I knew a Jewish person who - when I engaged them in a conversation about Palestine - told me that Palestinians didn’t exist

That’s how deep the colonial project of Zionism goes — It is an ideology rooted in annihilation. This genocide is not new, it is ongoing since the Nakba

Another ex. of Zionist propaganda in 🇺🇸 synagogues is olive trees, which are deeply important to Palestinians. As Jewish kids we would give tzedakah in the form of 💰 to plant trees in Israel on Tu Bishvat. We were told the land was barren. Truth: Israel decimated the olive trees

This may give context as to why white Jews in your life who you thought were further along in their political consciousness are really not seeing this genocide for what it is

We have to break from our childhood Zionist conditioning & rebuild our Judaism through anti-zionism

I grew up in a leftist Jewish community and still, I was taught that anyone who questions Israel hates Jews because Israel is the only place Jews can be safe. We were taught to we had a ~birthright~ to Israel. This is why the acronym “PEP”(Progressive Except Palestine) exists✨
