Zionism should have remained just a fringe nationalist ideology amongst a minority of Jewish folks but because it overlapped perfectly with western imperialist interests, Palestinians have to pay the price of a multi-billion dollar military operation on their land With Israel, Jewish ppl are pawns of western imperialism. For 🇺🇸 Jewish ppl like me who grew up going to synagogue, we were exposed to constant Zionist propaganda from a young age, even in “progressive” synagogues

Ex: I was taught that Israel is “A land without a people for a people without a land” — truly genocidal colonial erasure I knew a Jewish person who - when I engaged them in a conversation about Palestine - told me that Palestinians didn’t exist

That’s how deep the colonial project of Zionism goes — It is an ideology rooted in annihilation. This genocide is not new, it is ongoing since the Nakba

Just saw a protest sign: “Land you have to kill for isn’t yours, Land you have to die for is” It’s a good reminder that most Israeli settlers are from the US+western countries. They’re getting airlifted out w/ 2nd passports. Palestinians won’t leave bc it’s their ancestral land As a Jewish person from the US I deeply know how much money & time Israel invests in recruiting white Jewish Americans to be settlers in stolen Palestinian homes

“Birthright” propaganda trips are only one of many ways Israel incentivizes the Jewish diaspora to colonize Palestine

I think it would help Americans to situate their analysis of Israel in the context of it being an extension of US empire
