1/ Forces of the 'Luhansk People's Republic' are keeping dozens of injured and out-of-contract soldiers imprisoned in the basement of a Luhansk region barracks for as long as a year, without medical care or any legal representation. ⬇️
2/ ASTRA reports on the case of 25-year-old Alexei Danilko, who relatives say has been held in a basement in the Luhansk region town of Stakhanov for about a year. He has reportedly been told that he will only be released "after completion of the Special Military Operation".
3/ One of his relatives say that after he went from his Moscow home to the 'LPR' in April 2022, "they grabbed him at gunpoint and forced him to write on an A4 sheet of paper that he was voluntarily joining the ranks of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic."
4/ Danilko joined the 4th company of the 2nd battalion of the LPR's 6th Separate Motorized Rifle Cossack Regiment named after Matvei Platov. The People's Militia was merged with the Russian Army earlier this year, but Danilko never signed a contract with the Russian armed forces.
5/ On 28 July 2022, Danilko was badly injured by a petal mine in Soledar. He was sent to a hospital but did not receive a needed operation on his injured foot. Two months later, he was sent to a barracks, only walking with crutches.
6/ Since then, Danilko has been kept in a "cage" in the basement with a bucket in the corner. "He sits in the basement for a week, then he’s allowed to go up to the barracks. All our conversations go like this: “How are you? Alive?" "Alive." It’s like he’s in captivity there."
7/ Danilko says that "they verbally humiliate me and force me to wash the floors with toothbrushes. Here people are already disabled, all grown men. The command says: “I’ll get away with it, I don’t give a fuck, [you can complain]. I'll round you up at any moment and you'll go".
8/ I am not the first, not the last to be sent [to the front line]".
He reports that 20-30 other men are also being held there, many of them injured, some with expired contracts. Despite this, they are neither given medical treatment nor discharged.
9/ Some of the prisoners are sent back to the front line and replaced in the basement with new ones.
Danilko's relatives have contacted Russia's Investigative Committee, the military prosecutor's office, and even appealed to Putin, but have not received any response. /end

3/ Relatives of men from the 12th Guards Tank Regiment wrote in a complaint that "their command in the person of Lieutenant Colonel [Sergei] Chizkov (who was in a drunken state) sent them to carry out the combat mission, carrying only automatic rifles, without support."
