Despite a ceasefire & agreement to dissolve the Republic of Artsakh after the Azerbaijani invasion in September, Azerbaijan are continuing to build up their fleet of An-2 aircraft at Yevlakh airbase. (Google earth sat image). 1/?
In imagery taken yesterday there are 31 fully constructed An-2s with a further 12 in construction making 43 total. In early July of this year there were just 27 An-2s visible. Prior to the start of the 2020 war there were more than 60 visible with at least 11 later shot down.
The An-2s were converted into drones during the war and were used to bait Armenian/Artsakh air defences. I noticed the buildup in August of this year and after the events of September assumed that they were preparing for a longer war, however the continued buildup is concerning.
Turkish/Azerbaijani officials have been talking in the media about the importance of the Zangezur corridor which would link Nagorno Karabakh with Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic if implemented. Armenians have warned that Az plans to create this corridor through force.

The situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia is getting more and more tense with each passing day. I'm noticing a couple of concerning patterns that might suggest that Azerbaijan are planning a renewed offensive against Armenia. Hopefully I'm wrong of course.
I noticed an interesting series of flights made by an IL-76 belonging to Silk Way Airlines, an Azerbaijani owned carrier that has been accused of delivering weapons to conflict zones.
Aircraft '4K-AZ40' has made at least 7 flights to the Azerbaijani enclave of Nakhchivan in the last 48 hours. Prior to 8 September, the last time any of Silk Way's Il-76s flew to Nakhchivan was 8 October 2022, nearly 1 year ago.
Putin speech thread - I'll try to keep everything here to avoid spamming people's feeds. How late do we think he'll be? I'm going for a modest 8 minutes.
Putin has turned up, only 5 minutes late
Putin blaming the "coup" in 2014 for the invasion in 2022. More vague references of attacks on the Russian language.
Russian missile strike in the city of Dnipro this morning. Targeted location appears to be an industrial area which contains (according to wikimapia) an assembly building for the 'Zenit' rockets used in launches by the 'Sea Launch' company.
Location: 48.436782, 34.998946
I got a lucky break and saw a tweet (lost it now) that mentioned a company name, I'd still be stuck scouring streets around the state admin building if not
As a result of the destruction of an ammunition depot in Azovske, Crimea this morning. Railway services from Russia will stop at Feodosia on the south coast and passengers will travel by bus if they require an onward journey. Damage to the line is reportedly significant.
If the track has been significantly damaged or even destroyed, this is going to cause huge issues for Russian logistics in Kherson. Not only are the only bridges leading to the city heavily damaged, the one rail line they can use to resupply from Russia is out of commission.
Russians have been complaining about the ridiculous detour needed to get from Kerch to Simferopol, a new line (orange) was apparently proposed but as far as I can tell, hasn't been built.
Significant damage to warehouses in Snizhne, Donetsk region after a Ukrainian strike against a weapons depot in the early hours of Jul 4th.
Damage from the explosion is visible stretching almost 1km west from the warehouses.
Also here, at the 'Kamaz Centre' in Donetsk city, what is likely to be ammunition is moved into the facility between Jun 17th and Jul 2nd before being destroyed 2 days ago on Jul 5th.
