Some may have noticed my preference for using the terms PVC/AVC rather than BCE/CE or BC/AD when dating.
I will first give some historical context on how our ancients dated the years before arguing for my use of PVC/AVC;
PVC/AVC refers to πππππ or ππ π’πππ ππππππ‘π, prior and since the founding of the city of Rome by Romulus respectively.
BC/AD refers to the years prior and since the supposed birth of Yeshua of Nazareth.
BCE/CE is simply a secularization of BC/AD.
1 AVC = 753 BC.
AD as a dating system was devised 1278 AVC by the christian Dionysius Exiguus.
Before this the abrahamics dated years according to the reign of Emperor Diocletian and their slaughter at his hands in 1037 AVC.
AM (π΄πππ ππ’πππ) was also used by both the jews and eastern christians, referring to the year since the presumed creation of the world by their shared god Yahweh.
However, as is often the case with the various abrahamic denominations they disagreed on the actual date.
Prior to Constantine adopting the ibrahimic faith, the individual consulships were used as temporal references (ex: Pompeii erupted in the year of the Consulship of Titus and Vespasianus (832 AVC)).
Before the establishment of the consuls, the reigns of the kings were used.
PVC/AVC was established by the esteemed polymath Marcus Terentius Varro (637-726 AVC), who calculated the date of Rome's founding to the 21rst of April.
This method would be most often used in conjunction to the consular terms in historiographical work (most famously by Livy.)
The Greeks used the Olympiad, a period of 4 years following the Olympic games (ex: Rome was founded in the first year of the 7th Olympiad).
Individual victors were also used (ex: Cumae was conquered by the Samnites in the year Dorieus gained his second victory (326 AVC)).
Why use PVC/AVC rather than BC/AD?
The alienation we have from our roots in the West is in part caused by how modern history is taught.
Rather than seeing the world as our ancestors did we are made to be consciously disconnected from them through our very understanding of time.
I am of a mind that measuring indigenous polytheistic European history in concordance to the supposed birth of a Middle Eastern, Galilean jew, especially when studying anything prior to the reign of Constantine and his adoption of the ibrahimic faith, to be frankly absurd.

In Italian folklore, the Befana is an old witch thought to deliver gifts to children on the eve of the christian epiphany (commemoration of the baptism of yeshua and visit of the Magi).
Yet her origins likely lie in the indigenous beliefs of Italy, namely in the goddess Strenua;
Some argue that the name 'Befana' is an Italian mispronunciation of the Greek ππππβπππππ.
Others more convincingly put forward that it is a derivative of the πππ π‘ππππ, the specific offerings made to the goddess of the new year and purification Strenua.
To many, Rome is considered the paragon of ancient 'civilisation'.
While such laurels are well deserved, this romanticized view can eclipse a time in her history where she was far more 'primitive', nearly indistinguishable from those she would later call 'barbarians';
What is called the Villanovan age refers to Early Iron Age Italy, a period where the peoples of the peninsula were indistinct in regards to material culture (physical objects/architecture, opposed to non-material culture which consists of language and beliefs).
Venice is deservedly famed for its history vis-Γ -vis the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, yet this focus often eclipses the regionβs earlier history, as is the case with todayβs object of study; the Veneti
The Veneti are unique in their being placed at convergence of 3 distinct cultures, the Celts, the Illyrians and the Etruscans.
This has however lead to several conflicting claims regarding their origins:
Prior to the 'colony rush' of the archaic period, Greek presence in the region was known through several foundation myths attributed to Achaean heroes returning from the sack of Ilium, namely Nestor, Epeios, Menestheus, Philoctetes and Diomedes.
Many are the legacies the Etruscans imparted unto Rome, most notable of which being their understanding of the Gods, the fashion of their veneration and the manner in which to ascertain their will;
The 'religion' of the Rasenna, that is the method of their worship of the Immortals, is based on a series of scriptures referred to as the πΈπ‘ππ’π ππ π·ππ πππππππ in latin.
This corpus of texts is based on the revelations of two prophets; Vegoia and Tages.

Part 3: The afterlife
Continuing our overview of the foundational principles of the ancestral faith, today we cover the oft-discordant and misinterpreted concept of the afterlife.
Prior to the debilitating restrictiveness of semitic scripture, there were as many perceptions of the after-life as there were differing schools of philosophy.
There is however a generally agreed upon outline of the journey of the soul and the geography of the underworld;
