People with checklists complete their work 40% faster

But 99% of them are making their checklists wrong.

Here's how to do it right: (Using psychology) Image
1. Do a brain dump.

Write down all tasks in your head.

All projects, goals, and to-dos.

This releases cognitive load.
2. Separate tasks.

Distill it down to 3-5 big tasks for the day.

Use the Eisenhower Matrix to separate tasks by importance.

→ Urgent and Important
→ Not Urgent, but Important
→ Urgent, but Not Important
→ Not Urgent and Not Important
3. Create a Morning Routine list.

Every day, start with a simple 5-15 minute routine.

Example:
→ Water
→ Breakfast
→ Stretching
→ Plank
→ Meditation

This helps your brain switch into a productive state.
4. Time Block.

Schedule time for each task.

Work for 90 minutes and then take a break.

Use the Pomodoro Technique.

25 minute work sprints with 5 minute breaks.
5. Connect tasks to goals.

For each task, ask “Why?”

Knowing the why behind each task links it to goals.

Goals = motivation = more productivity.
6. Stop overloading your list.

Busy does not mean productive.

3-5 major tasks and 1-2 minor tasks are enough.

This prevents burnout and keeps you motivated.
7. Review your list at the end of the day.

Look back at completed tasks.

Celebrate the wins.

Analyze what was missed.

This makes the next day's list better.
Productivity is about focus, not the number of tasks.

Use these tips for an effective checklist:

→ Brain dump
→ Separate tasks
→ Create a morning routine
→ Time block
→ Connect tasks to goals
→ Stop overloading your list
→ Review at end of day

Charlie Munger's famous aphorism:

"The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say 'no' to almost everything."

Charlie Munger's 8 thought-provoking ideas on how to live a happier and richer life: Image
1. Invest in yourself.

Spend time and money learning new skills and expanding your knowledge.

Munger says, "I constantly see people rise in life who are not the smartest, sometimes not even the most diligent but they are learning machines."
2. Avoid stupidity.

Many people are too busy trying to be smart. Munger argues that simple decision-making and avoiding mistakes can be much more useful.

"Avoid doing stupid things. This advice is absolutely fundamental."

How To Be Happy Against All Odds:

(Naval Ravikant's 10-year formula to happiness) Image
Naval Ravikant's formula for happiness is a simple one: happiness = health + wealth + good relationships.

But how did he come up with this formula?

It started in his early twenties when he was struggling to find it...
He did what every 20-year-old has gone through:

Focusing on external abundance.

- Money
- Status

In the pursuit of both, he neglected his own health, wealth, and relationships.

How David Goggins hacked his brain into doing hard things:

(Formula below) Image
Born in Buffalo, New York, to a poor family.

David was overweight, bullied, and lost as a child when his parents got divorced.

At 18, he joined the Navy SEALs, one of the most elite military units in the world.
SEAL training is infamously gruelling and exhausting to the point where Goggins failed to graduate twice, before finally earning his place among the SEALs.

After years in service, he began competing in ultramarathon races across the States. Image

First-principle thinking = breaking down complicated problems into fundamental truths and building up from there.
What is first-principle thinking?

Deconstructing a problem to its most fundamental truths, then forming a solution from scratch.

Your Gut Feeling is Real

Here's why: Image
Since the 16th century, a Flemish physician named Andreas Vesalius speculated a gut-brain connection in 1514-1564.

He wrote in his book De humani corporis fabrica (On the Fabric of the Human Body) that the stomach was "connected to the brain by nerves." Image
It was only in the last 100 years that Otto Loewi, an Austrian-American biochemist, discovered the vagus nerve in 1921.

The vagus nerve connects the gut to the brain.

Here's how they are are connected: Image
