🧵1. Highlights from the 77-page report released today by the House Judiciary, Ways & Means, and Oversight Committee

2. Early examples of preferential treatment. Just to open a case and start investigating, there was a higher bar than for the average person.

By the time investigators were ready to start interviewing witnesses, President-elect Joe Biden's transition team got tipped off.

3. Delaware AUSA Lesley Wolf halts any logical investigative follow-ups that might lead to President Joe Biden.

4. Wolf also refuses to examine evidence developed by another U.S. Attorney's office or share it with the investigators.

Some unnamed FBI HQ fixer is helping her slow-walk the case and stifle normal communication and cooperation.

5. The unusual roadblocks have to be elevated to the Deputy Attorney General's office during the Trump admin.

The Delaware U.S. Attorneys Office conduct was *very* unusual.

6. Wolf blocks a valid search warrant for the Biden Delaware residence, a separate warrant for a storage unit, due to "optics."

But, optics is not hurdle to executing search warrants on average Americans.

7. Routine interviews were delayed or blocked by the unusual requirement for senior level approval from the DOJ Tax Division.

8. The statute of limitations on charges related to mischaracterizing Burisma income as "loans" was allowed to lapse.

Tax Division attorney admits to IRS WB Shapley that it's "not a typical case" b/c it involves its the President's son.

Weiss won't answer the obvious key Q.

9. DE AUSA Weiss didn't actually have the authority that AG Garland swore he had, until it was too late for the Burisma charges.

Special "Attorney" v. "Counsel" is a complicated, irrelevant semantic rabbit hole—even more than we knew.

True. Not just me, but also other House and Senate staffers, both Democrat and Republican.

An outrageous fishing expedition to gather intel on the comms of attorneys for cmtes doing DOJ oversight.

Here's the grand jury subpoena @Google provided. The red redaction is mine.

A link to all new IRS #whistleblower docs the House cmte voted to release today is below along with @tristanleavitt's highlight thread.
2. The first one listed on the cmte website is an affidavit from IRS #whistleblower Joseph Ziegler.

It summarizes all the other new documents he provided and the cmte released.

gop-waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/upl…
3. Ziegler provided supporting documents for his previous testimony that Hunter Biden falsely characterized his income from corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma as a loan to evade income tax.

Ziegler explains it was willful b/c he was told. Still didn't amend return or pay.

🙄 Solution below ⬇️🧵…

Do this *now*, @Jim_Jordan, @RepJamesComer, @RepJasonSmith, @SpeakerMcCarthy, @HouseGOP

Before any contempt votes, so that the threat of contempt has some teeth.

Before any funding for the next fiscal year is considered in Sept….

1/
Simple solution.

No executive branch agency or court could stop you.

The Senate can’t stop you.

House rules are none of their business.

No one can make you consider any bill in order that funds the salary of officials defying your subpoenas. Period.

And why would you?

2/
Delegate the triggering contempt vote down to the committee level to fast track and simplify the process of imposing actual consequences on witnesses who defy your subpoenas.

3/

1🧵Nothing in the Constitution grants prosecutors or “special” or “independent” counsels immunity from congressional oversight.

2🧵 @tristanleavitt and I personally led congressional probes related to ongoing law enforcement matters and obtained info on pending criminal matters.

@tristanleavitt 3🧵 @TheJusticeDept doesn’t even take its own rhetoric seriously—leaking to friendly press when it wants while pretending it must stiff-arm Congress.

House Ways & Means Cmte Chair @RepJasonSmith Opposes Biden Lawyers' Attempt to Seal IRS #Whistleblower Materials

Biden family lawyers continue to smear the IRS WBs w/ false claims that their protected disclosures were criminal.

Full filing here:

1/🧵 https://t.co/rLAwjIIvtyempr.me/456PITK

2/ IRS SSA Gary Shapley and Hunter Biden case agent Joe Ziegler made protected disclosures to Congress. Congress voted to release them to the public and filed copies with the court considering the Hunter Biden plea.
Image

3/ Biden family attorneys threw a hissy fit, hurling broad, vague, and false accusations of criminal activity by the whistleblowers—w/o pointing to a single example.

They even got the filing pulled from the docket by falsely claiming it contained SSNs, bank acct numbers, etc.
