I know people get really defensive or aggressive based on political alignment about this ("Are you a misogynist then??" "She's bad because she's a woman/lefty"), but it really is critically bad analysis regardless. All the same arguments, beats, rhetoric, etc were widespread.
A lot of apologists said "At least she's trying to critically analyze games at all" but that doesn't make it good analysis.
She did take the video down due to errors but it was already too late - a lot of hate started brewing on /v/ at the time
This was 2 years before gamergate. Those 2014 evenets were kind of meaningless in comparison to "this". GG was seen as a convenient "tangible" excuse to get revenge against 'the journalist class' for promoting Anita. Most of the first GG threads were full of anti-Anita stuff.

A lot of people today can't seem to separate the "art" from the "fandom", they are one and the same, they grew up baking in "fandoms" online, hopping from one social circle to the next, media becomes intertwined with personal friendships, and separating the two becomes impossible
