The common lay complaint against 2010 SJWs was not strictly ideological, but behavioral - they were annoying, controlling, suffocating, incapable of having conversations, and couldn't ever stop moralistically telling people what to do.

Who else is this applicable for in 2024? "The left failed to achieve Total Victory, not because they were annoying, but because their ideology went against Truth and Logic. We deserved to win because we are right. So we're not being 'annoying' or 'controlling' - you just need to get with the program. It's Current Year."

All anyone had to do was not take sides. Just because stupid people made it a culture war issue doesn't mean you have to do the same, unless you're a reactionary slave. That goes for everyone involved If this keeps up you'll start screaming "fed psyop false flag!" like the right does every time they do a mass murder. You don't need to base your opinions on the basis of "your side" being Infallibly Perfect, but maybe that's the default position in this age of moral paranoia.

despite its overwhelming dominance in younger generations, even being a prevalent media for millenials 10-20 years ago, there's been zero representation or depiction of this reality in any contemporary mass media, even ones specifically aiming to depict "real youth culture" Is it because mass media is still controlled by boomers and some genxrs? Do writers and executives all live in some insular LA bubble? Maybe just xenophobia? Market protectionism? Nothing makes sense otherwise. It's not niche.

Translation can be notoriously difficult, and lots of dumb people did get angry at all sorts of innocuous things, but I think an inability to recognize bad translation jobs when they do actually occur has made some people untrustworthy of apologists who seem to defend everything If translation takes a lot of skill, then there -will- be bad translations at some point as a rule. Sometimes a translator doesn't have the requisite skill or talent to do it properly. Just because some 'gamer' mocks a line in a titty game doesn't mean they're wrong by default.
