🧵IDF soldiers broke protocols tragically killing hostages with white flags. Key question is why soldiers may have thought they were a threat? Because of at least TEN Hamas war crimes which greatly impact IDF actions, especially in Shejaiya where this occurred. Here they are: 1/
ONE: Hamas dresses as civilians. If Hamas wore uniforms as required by international law, IDF would never have thought civilians might be combatants. The hostages would still be alive. Hamas violates Geneva Protocol I.44.3 2/
TWO: Hamas regularly violates “Prohibition of perfidy” by feigning civilian status, a key factor in tragic hostage incident. Hamas acts like civilians, enters homes set up with arms, exits as civilian, enters another pre-set attack position. A core Hamas battle strategy 3/
THREE: Hamas uses human shields. Not just hiding among & under civilians which is also war crime. But sending civilians as spotters or to disrupt IDF actions as reported in Jabaliya in just one case from story below. Hamas violates Protocol I.51.7 risking lives of civilians. 4/
FOUR: Hamas illegally booby traps bodies, certain civilian sites, even children’s backpack (see news story) & lures troops using things like baby recordings. This has killed IDF soldiers. War crimes under Protocol on Prohibitions & Restrictions on Use of Mines, Booby-Traps. 5/
FIVE: Hamas violates Protocol I.58 as they have an affirmative duty to avoid locating military objectives from "densely population areas" – like Shejaiya neighborhood where hostages killed. This is the core Hamas war crime: embedding within civilian areas. 6/
SIX: Hamas regularly violates Geneva Protocol I.53 by using mosques for weapons storage, attacks, tunnels etc. Many documented examples. While not directly related to killing of hostages, this & other war crimes speak to IDF troops knowing that NOTHING is too low for Hamas. 7/
SEVEN: Further in the category of NOTHING being too low for Hamas: rape on 10/7 and sexual violence against hostages (10 hostages reported this) is a unique war crime. 8/
EIGHT: Hamas tortured and caused physical suffering to hostages. From placing burn marks on children to identify them if they escaped to just murdering hostages they violate Geneva IV.32. Nothing is too low & depraved for Hamas. IDF has internalized this. 9/
NINE: Hamas use of hospitals for its military actions is now well documented, from hostage taking at Rantisi & Shifa hospitals, tunnels, Hamas firing positions, weapons inside incubators. Nothing too low for Hamas. Nothing can be trusted. Several laws broken like this one: 10/
TEN: Finally of course: taking hostages is a war crime per Geneva IV.34. If Hamas had not taken hostages in the first place they’d still be alive today. Their death – and every civilian death in this war – is ultimately for the account of Hamas. 11/
Another 10 war crimes could easily be listed (e.g. rockets). It is dishonest & willfully ignorant to assess killing of hostages by IDF without taking into account these massive Hamas war crimes IDF soldiers deal with daily. UN & Fake NGOs of course pretend they don't know. END

🧵Hezbollah vs IDF killed casualty ratio in Lebanon corroborates the IDF claim of at ~18,000 Hamas/PIJ combatants killed in Gaza. The 48:1 ratio in Lebanon precisely matches the ratio of Hamas vs IDF killed in Gaza. Key data & analysis below: 1/
IDF reports 46 soldiers killed in ground operations in Lebanon. Hezbollah killed are at least 2,200, identified individually by death notification, compiled by a number of observers like the one below. Hezbollah casualty counts do not appear disputed. 2/
The 2,200 killed in the ground operation matches the 3,000 Hezbollah the IDF says have been killed since 10/7. Several 100 were killed before the ground operation, others in the beeper attack, etc. Again, I have not seen disputes on these numbers. 3/
🧵Must read article from Danielle Haas, 13-yr senior editor at @HRW, exposing its anti-Israel bias and unwillingness to criticize Hamas. Thread below debunks several HRW "reports" since 10/7 claiming Israeli war crimes, all based on lies & fake law. 1/ sapirjournal.org/friends-and-fo…
HRW fabricates false charges of “forcible transfer” of civilians in Gaza in textbook case of Israel is “criminal if you do, criminal if you don’t.” HRW would surely charge Israel with crimes if it did not evacuate civilians prior to attacking Hamas. 2/
HRW claimed Israel’s attack on Yemen was a war crime because they say it was not a legal military target. But the same UN report they cite says the opposite, that port was used by Houthis to detain ships. And more fake law. 3/
🧵Few look to postmarks to understand history. But there are many basic truths revealed by Ottoman & British postal history of the Holy Land. For example, Ottomans had a postmark for the ancient Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem and also used Hebrew. Something new for you today: 1/
Background: Today’s Israel, Gaza/WB, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq were all integral parts of Ottoman Turkey indistinguishable politically from Turkey proper. Post WWI new borders & nations were created with no connection to Ottoman political districts called Vilayets, see map 2/
This is confirmed by postage. The same Turkish stamps were used throughout the Ottoman Empire from today’s Iraq to Constantinople to Jaffa. See more examples of Ottoman postmarks from all over the empire below (Halep=Aleppo, Hudeida=Hodeidah, Yemen). 3/
🧵New HRW "report" claiming Israel committed crime of “forcible transfer” is a work of fantasy and fake law. HRW ridiculously claims Israel has no “military imperative” to evacuate Gazans by pretending IDF is not battling Hamas and has other options—but offers none. Analysis: 1/
First, HRW's entire 176-page analysis assumes Gaza is occupied thus Geneva Article 49 (below) applies to Israel’s evacuation actions—otherwise entire report falls apart. We’ll assume for this thread Gaza is occupied (it’s not); even so, Israel’s actions are still 100% legal. 2/
HRW’s thesis relies entirely on claiming Israel has no legitimate “military imperative” to evacuate Gazans—thus a crime. HRW does this by effectively pretending Hamas was/is not in active combat in Gaza, is not embedded in civilian areas & poses no threat to IDF or Israel. 3/
🧵No famine exists in Gaza per Famine Review Committee Nov 2024 report. Once again only “imminent” and "likely" as it has been all of 2024. Report admits substantial aid into Gaza for many months. Claims of “intentional starvation” by Israel are fake per IPC report. Detail: 1/
Report concludes: “strong likelihood of famine is imminent in areas” of north Gaza. Then says “imminent & substantial likelihood of famine” and later adds a “risk of famine” from Nov 24-Apr 25. So no famine now or ever. Here are conclusions from JUNE report. Sound familiar? 2/
The IPC Famine Review Committee (FRC) keeps acknowledging the same thing over and over all year. No famine in Gaza. The IPC projections have been wrong each time, they admit food entering has increased and therefore no famine is occurring. Here is their conclusion from March. 3/
🧵10 points that counter claims of genocide in Gaza, a modern blood libel that falsely portrays Israel's war against Hamas as criminal. The points are presented below as a roadmap for Israel’s legal team at the ICJ and all others fighting the genocide lie. Long but worth a read:
1. Claims of “Intent” to genocide rely on misrepresented and falsified statements by Israeli leaders (mainly Netanyahu, Herzog & Gallant). Debunk these falsifications which alone shatters the case against Israel, as intent is critical to prove genocide. Action items:
2. Document Hamas’ human shield strategy. Detail how this is the primary reason for civilian casualties & physical destruction in Gaza. Damage to life and property is not due to how Israel is fighting the war, but how Hamas is fighting the war. Action items:
