The vast majority of Muslims and Palestinians oppose Hamas.
SJP's violent actions and rhetoric clearly do not represent every Palestine or Muslim person.
There is no excuse for Islamophobia or any kind of xenophobia.
So, who is behind Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine?
Who gives them money? Where do they get their training?
Remember Hatem Bazian, the @UCBerkeley professor who founded SJP in 2001?
(as a reminder, here is a short clip of Bazian calling for an armed uprising in the U.S.)
Bazian’s violent antisemitic rhetoric has been known to the University of California system and @UCBerkeley for at least six years, and they have chosen to do nothing about it
In 2006, Bazian founded American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)
AMP was established by more than half a dozen staff of three defunct Hamas-linked charities:
1. Holy Land Foundation 2. Islamic Foundation for Palestine 3. Kindhearts for Charitable Development
These three organizations were dissolved and/or had their assets frozen by the U.S. government *for fundraising in the United States in support of Hamas*
This flowchart clearly shows how these Hamas-supporting organizations regrouped as American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)
It gets even more surreal.
In a recent video, a Hamas spokesperson explicitly said that one goal of the massacre of October 7 and the kidnapping of more than 250 civilians (including 14 American civilians) was the release of these organizations’ directors *from U.S. prisons *
So, who is pulling the strings at American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)?
Let’s take a look at their board of directors.
Here is Dr. Osama Abuirshaid, the Executive Director of AMP, calling Israel a bloodsucking parasite
Abuirshaid has repeatedly expressed support for Hamas and its desire to “free Palestine from the river to the sea”
This is the exact same genocidal chants used by Students for 'Justice' in Palestine across U.S. campuses
Again, don’t take my word for it.
Here is Abuirshaid – the Executive Director of American Muslims for Palestine - contributing to the website of Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of Hamas.
Of course, Abuirshaid is not the only problematic individual at AMP
Taher Herzallah is the Director of Outreach and Grassroots Organizing at AMP.
AMP officials will tell you that they are not antisemitic.
That’s a lie.
Herzalla sees every Jewish person as the enemy
In his prior role at the organization, Herzallah was the National Campus Coordinator for American Muslims for Palestine
(here's a screenshot from his LinkedIn account)
In this role, Herzallah helped American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) coordinate the many college chapters of Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine (SJP) all across the U.S.
Here is @JSchanzertestifying in front of Congress about the link between AMP and SJP
Finally, here is Tarek Khalil, the current Education Coordinator at American Muslims for Palestine.
He is the man who is in charge of coordinating the antisemitic agenda of SJP.
Is this the guy you want engaging with college students all across the United States?
Last week, AMP held their national convention in Tinley Park, Illinois, in which they ran a special program for students called “Campus Activism Track”
In this session, Khalil taught college students how to coordinate the language they use in their pro-Hamas protests
He also led a “Youth Program”, presumably for pre-college teens who are still in high school
This wouldn’t be surprising, since American Muslims for Palestine has been trying to get into American high schools since as early as 2012
American Muslims for Palestine don’t even try to hide their involvement in nationally coordinating the pro-Hamas protests all across the U.S.
For instance, here is a blog post from earlier this year:
Well, things seem to have really kicked-off in 2010, the year that American Muslims for Palestine facilitated a National convention of Students for 'Justice' in Palestine
During that year’s convention’s program, American Muslims for Palestine explicitly called for the creation of a National organization of Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine
In addition to helping Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine coordinate their pro-Hamas protests, American Muslims for Palestine have also been providing material support to SJP chapters across the country
So far, we’ve seen how American Muslims for Palestine – an organization led by antisemitic, Hamas-supporting directors – supports and coordinates SJP, the so-called ‘spontaneous’ and ‘grassroots’ movement in colleges all across the U.S.
But there is more.
In 1996, David Boim *a 17 year old American teenager* was shot and killed by Hamas terrorists at a bus stop near Jerusalem.
David’s parents have sued American Muslims for Palestine for allegedly giving material support to Hamas
And, on October 31, 2023, @JasonMiyaresVA - the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia - opened an investigation into American Muslims for Palestine under suspicion of giving material support to Hamas.
Maybe the most alarming thing is that the U.S. congress has known about American Muslims for Palestine and their connection to Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine for at least 7 years.
Here again is @JSchanzertestifying in front of Congress about AMP
It’s difficult to know why Congress has yet to act on this issue.
One reason may be that the complicated corporate structure of American Muslims for Palestine also has a lobbying arm called AJP Action
For years, this lobbying arm has been lobbying the same radical politicians who we have publicly supported Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine, including at @Columbia University
In sum:
Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine (SJP) receive guidance and financial support from American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) whose directors have strong links to three pro-terror organizations that were dissolved by the U.S. government for fundraising money for Hamas
This is why I find @Columbia University’s support of Students for ‘Justice’ in Palestine highly disturbing, to say the least.
This is why we must all ask Congresswoman
@virginiafoxx to issue a subpoena and force the President of @Columbia to testify in front of the U.S. Congress
As always, if you've made it all the way to the end of this thread, I kindly ask you to retweet this.
Every American parent needs to know about the pro-terror organization that is operating on their kids' college campus.
Please retweet this and tag your alma mater, Congressperson, and Governor.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of an intentional massacre of 1400 Israeli women, children, babies, and the elderly.
I think we need to talk about your silence in the face of the kidnapping of more than 200 Israeli civilians who, as we speak, are being held at gun point in dark cellars all across Gaza.
I am an assistant professor at Columbia Business School. I am a father, a husband, an uncle, and a son. I am a forty-year-old man, and last week I found myself crying in front of a group of complete strangers.
In a video that has since gone viral, I stood on Columbia University’s main campus and pleaded with my employer to protect me and help me protect the thousands of Jewish students whose lives and safety have been entrusted to us by worried parents all across the United States.
I pleaded with my employer to help me protect the lives of thousands of Jewish students from pro-terror student organizations who openly laud Hamas—an internationally recognized terrorist organization.
Patricia and I started off with a simple question, which evolved into something much bigger:
How do people who walk thinking that life is zero-sum navigate social hierarchies?
Across 10 studies, we found consistent and overwhelming evidence that viewing status as zero-sum (your gain is my loss) motivates people to use aggression, intimidation, and dominance techniques on their path to higher status...
