Gujarat was every investor's NIGHTMARE in 2002.

• Slow & CORRUPTED Gov. clearances.
• Poor & Broken Infrastructure
• Energy & Water Shortage
• Social Unrest

But then... Gujarat grew by a whopping 15% for 20 YEARS!

Here's how Gujarat cracked the code for development ↓ 🧵 Image
Zoom back to 2002.

Gujarat was facing one of its worst times in history:

• People didn't have water to drink.
• They were afraid to go out (2002 riots).
• Massive earthquake in Bhuj in 2001 killed 13,000+ people.

And not just that,
Economically speaking, Gujarat was one of the WORST Places to do business in.

• Frequent Power Outages,
• Poor Infrastructure
• Water Shortage

And slow and corrupt government procedures made businesses wary of Gujarat.
But then, they implemented a strategy to genius, that today Gujarat boasts of:

• 77% of our petroleum exports
• 33% of our pharma capabilities
• Being India's TOP EXPORTER
• 23x rise in GDP

So how did this change happen?
It was due to 3 key changes:

• Solving Power and Energy Crisis
• Ease of Doing Business
• Megaprojects

Read on for more knowledge ↓
1/ Solving Power and Energy Crisis

The Gujarat water crisis roots from the following problem -

It has just ONE MAJOR river - Narmada.

This meant all other parts of the state were facing a SEVERE drought.

So how did they solve the water crisis? Image
By Canals.

Investing heavily into canals, they ensured Narmada's water reached even the remotest areas of Kachchh.

The result?

Agricultural output grew by 70% in just 5 years! (FY07-FY12) Image
To solve the Power problem,

They replaced the power lines with newer, more efficient ones, and built many power plants, resulting in

• 15% reduction in Transmission Loss.
• From being Energy deficit to being energy SURPLUS!
• Profits!

After fixing the basic problems, they↓ Image
2/ Improving Ease of doing business.

To boost the ease of doing business, the Gujarat implemented 2 key systems:

• Single Window Clearance:

Instead of waiting months for approvals, businesses now had a one-stop online solution for clearances - saving time and money.
• Land Banking System:

Here, the Gov. acquired huge tracks of land in advance, making it readily available for businesses.

This saved the businesses YEARS of their time negotiating with small landowners.
Then, Using the "Vibrant Gujarat Summit" as a platform,

Gujarat showcased its remarkable development, seamless business environment, and the success of existing industries (like Tata's Nano Plant) to attract companies to invest in Gujarat.

And it worked. Image
3/ Mega Projects

Gujarat didn't just focus on the present, it built for the future.

Megaprojects like GIFT City, and Dholera, were a literal 'gift' for the Indian business intuitions.

Being an IFSC, GIFT City helps companies save money while transacting globally.
And, Dholera is a blueprint for a global manufacturing and trading hub.

It boasts world-class infrastructure and a strategic location for seamless exporting.

But... this is not the end of Gujarat's development.
In the Human Development Index, Gujarat is among the worst states.

And in terms of literacy, there is a whopping 16% disparity among literacy rates among men (85%) and women (69%)

This means - although Gujarat cracked the code for businesses, it still has a LOT to grow.
So to conclude, Gujarat grew because of -

• Focusing on Basic Facilities
• Implementing
- Single Window Clearance
- Land Banking System
• Vibrant India Summit
• Developing Mega Projects

Do you think other states can mimic Gujarat's growth strategy?

While we were busy focusing on Elections,

China was focusing on capturing the next global wave.

Here's how China captured the EV market in the world (and what India is doing now) Image
EVs are amazing, right?

Low running cost. Good for the environment*, and a cool car.

But there's a problem. China.

They have the ENTIRE EV chain in their fists. From Mining to Refining, to Application.

You name it. They control it.
There are 5 key segments in the EV Industry:

• Battery Manufacturing, BMS (Battery Management Service)
• Auto component manufacturing
• Vehicle Manufacturing
• Charging infra
• Mobility as a Service. (Uber Green, etc) Image

Sanjiv Mehta is the MD & CEO of Hindustan Unilever, a $67 BILLION company.

His 10 values for success (that you'll not get in ANY book) Image
1. Sensemaking: Unlocking the Power of Understanding.

Why bother with a self-help book if you can't make sense of it?

Whether it's crunching data, analyzing code, or decoding analytics, being able to truly understand puts you miles ahead of your competition.
2. Don't let a stock market crash stop you from investing today.

Remember, progress is about where you will be, not where you are right now.

Keep your eyes on the stairs, not the view from above, or risk falling off track.

The Indian Ocean is one of the most important oceans.

Because

• 2/3rd of the World's Oil Shipments
• 1/3rd of the Bulk Cargo
• HALF of the World's container shipments pass through it.

And India could just have lost control over it.

Why?

Thanks to Maldives... and ↓
On 4th October 2023, India got a huge shock.

Maldives got a new president. Well, an anti-Indian president to be exact.

As soon as Mohamad Muizzu got to power, he commanded the Indian military to leave Maldives immediately!

And this is a HUGE problem for India.
You see, the Maldives location is something to yearn for,

It lies in the MIDDLE of the Indian Ocean, making its location golden for our Modern Trade routes, through which

• 2/3rd of Oil,
• 1/3rd of bulk cargo,
• 1/2 of the world's container shipments pass through, Image

Swami Vivekananda could remember a WHOLE book by reading it ONCE.

How?

Through these secret Ancient Indian techniques

(Use them to never fail your exam again!)
1/ Avadhana - Training your mind to learn new things.

Okay, Multi-tasking is WIDELY denounced today - for its ability to LOWER our productivity.

But, if used correctly, and after training, multi-tasking can make you a GENIUS.

The key word is - TRAINING.
Ancient Indians trained their mind in such a way - that they could

• Say the sanskrit verse
• Solve a math problem
• Count the number of beats of the bell ringing in the background.

At the SAME time!

What if I told you, even you practiced "avadhana" in your childhood?

Despite taking a debt of ₹3.48 LAKH Cr, only 23% of the BharatMala project is finished.

At this rate... forget the principal, NHAI won't be able to cover the loan's INTEREST!

With funds running dry, how will NHAI complete BharatMala and reduce its debt burden?

A few answers↓
In the past 8 years, the debt of NHAI has increased by EIGHT TIMES!

NHAI's main source of revenue - toll payments - is less than SIX TIMES the interest payments.

And... given the rate at which NHAI is borrowing money... Image
NHAI will NEVER be able to pay off its debts, or, get another loan.

And... without money, NHAI wouldn't build any more roads either.

So will the Indian road system remain broken in the future as well?

Well, no.

All thanks to these 3 indigenous ways of getting money:
