In today's #vatniksoup, I'll introduce two American-British social media personalities, Andrew and Tristan Tate (@cobratate and @tatethetalisman). They're best-known for their social media grifts, allegations of human trafficking and rape, and anti-Ukrainian rhetoric.
1/18
Andrew used to be a professional kickboxer, and eventually became a four-time world champion. He became to wider public in 2016, when he appeared on Big Brother. He was removed from the show after six days due to an ongoing police investigation for rape.
2/18
Some years later, the brothers launched a group of websites selling training courses on making money and improving in "male-to-female interactions". They also started a webcam business, where up to 75 women were working for him. They admitted the business was a "total scam".
3/18
The brothers launched a website called Hustler's University, a paid platform with an affiliate marketing system, where members receive a commission if they recruit new people to the service. Andrew also encouraged people to spread the content far and wide on social media.
4/18
Their other websites like "The Real World" and "War Room" are also paid services with little meaningful substance. Leaked chat logs showed that the latter even ran a "PhD course" on how to emotionally manipulate women into performing on webcams.
5/18
Throughout the years, Tates have gathered a large, cult-like following and his social media campaigns have reached especially young men - 80% of British boys aged between 16 and 17 had seen Andrew's content, and 45% of British men aged 16–24 had a positive view of him.
6/18
Andrew and his brother have been connected to various far-right figures & conspiracy theorists, including British far-right activist @TRobinsonNewEra, PizzaGate promoter @JackPosobiec, and of course @RealAlexJones.
Andrew's been featured several times on InfoWars.
7/18
Out of the two, Tristan has been much more vocal about the War in Ukraine.
Some of their views most probably come from their late father, Emory, who already back in 2015 wrote that "Why is America silent when Kiev is slaughtering innocents?? Unreal".
8/18
Both Andrew and Tristan are strongly pushing for the "US/Western proxy war" narrative, and neither has never condemned Russia for their invasion of Ukraine. Tristan even claimed that "Western politicians are responsible for the slaughter of a generation of brave young men".
9/18
Tristan has claimed that "Porosenko [sic] overtook the country in a CIA led coup," and then started "murdering" the ethnic Russians. According to him, Putin tried to "mitigate this and the killing for 7+ years," eventually "stepping in" to save them. All this in one tweet.
10/18
He's also has called Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia "breakaway regions," then comparing the situation to China and Taiwan, completely misunderstanding how countries and borders in general work. According to him, Donbas "declared independence" from Ukraine.
11/18
Tristan has naively called to "stop the war," but neither of the brothers ever talks about why this is not possible: it's because Russia has decided to decimate Ukraine and at the same time kill hundreds of thousands of their own men.
12/18
According to Andrew, Putin "cured" COVID after he launched the full-scale invasion to Ukraine. He's also suggested that the war is some kind of money laundering scheme of the elites. And of course it's a proxy war and, according to Tristan, provoked by NATO expansions.
13/18
After Yevgeny Prigozhin and PMC Wagner launched their insurrection against the Kremlin, Tristan tweeted that he's "Praying for all the people of Russia". He's also called Zelenskyy a "criminal", and claimed that he was "spearheading" the humanitarian aid in Feb 2022.
14/18
As a matter of fact, Tristan delivered a bunch of coats and shoes (probably costing ~100 USD) to fleeing Ukrainian refugees, and filmed this for all to see. This way he can show his critics that "he actually cares." He doesn't, he did it for attention and to sell their BS.
15/18
In Dec 2022, Romanian police arrested both Tate brothers and two women. All four were suspected of human trafficking, forming an organized crime group and one of them was suspected of rape. Naturally, they've countered the accusations with their own.
16/18
Recently, various fellow conspiracy theorists like @drloupis have come to defend the Tates, claiming that they "won't be on the Epstein list," using the infamous "I may be an (alleged) sex trafficker and rapist, but at least I'm not a pedophile!" defense.
17/18
In Finland, however, the big brother Andrew is best-known for his tendency to "culturally appropriate" Finnish sauna by sitting on the kid's bench in the measly temperature of 50C, all this while wearing his swimming trunks. And this guy calls himself the "ultimate alpha".

In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce an American far-right social media personality, Nicholas J. Fuentes (@NickJFuentes). He’s best-known for his white supremacist, misogynistic and antisemitic rhetoric, and for being the poster boy for the so-called incel movement.
1/17
Like so many from the white supremacist movement, Fuentes dropped out of university after his freshman year. He studied introductory international relations, which apparently made him a geopolitics expert. Nick was introduced to the white supremacist movement at an…

..early age - he took part in the infamous Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville,Virginia. In 2017, Fuentes launched his political talk show “America First”. Initially the show was aired on Trump-aligned Right Side Broadcasting Network, but it was dropped after the rally.
3/17
In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll discuss foreign malign influence operations during the 2024 US elections. As in 2016 and 2020, these recent elections were also a target of massive disinformation and hacking campaigns originating mostly from Russia and Iran.
1/17
First of all, my opinion is that these influence operations alone didn’t affect the elections so much, that they actually made a difference.
Unlike in 2016, Trump’s win over Harris was clear and these short-term campaigns didn’t really change that much this time.
2/17
Yet, many of these online campaigns attacked both Harris and Walz on various social media platforms. Especially Walz became a big target after his nomination, and many Russian efforts attempted to defame him.
In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce a social media personality and TV presenter, Raisa Blommestijn (@rblommestijn). She’s best-known for her far-right rhetorics, spreading conspiracy theories, and spreading anti-Ukraine and pro-Kremlin narratives on Dutch television.
1/24
Raisa studied philosophy of law at Leiden University. The faculty is best-known for one of its professors, Paul Cliteur. He’s a member of the pro-Kremlin party Forum voor Democratie (FvD), where he is one of the leading figures.Cliteur is also known for supervising the FvD…

…founder Thierry Baudet’s doctoral thesis, and can be considered a central figure in this Dutch “anti-establishment” movement. While studying at Leiden, Raise also met her best friend forever, Eva Vlaardingerbroek:
In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce an American podcaster, Darryl Cooper (@martyrmade). He’s best-known for “Martyr Made”, a history podcast that provides a strongly revisionist and biased analysis on historical events such as the Revolution of Dignity and World War II.
1/22
Darryl became known to big audiences in 2021, when he published a Twitter thread in which he basically described a massive conspiracy against Trump during both 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. The culprits were predictable: the corporate press, intelligence agencies…
2/22
…and of course the evil Democrats. To Darryl, Russia was not working together with the Trump campaign, even though there’s clear evidence that many of his officials - including Carter Page, Rex Tillerson, Michael Flynn and Paul Manafort - interacted intimately with…
In today’s #vatniksoup, I’m going to outline the current situation in the West’s information war against Russia & its allies. Currently, the West’s counter-disinformation measures are severely underfunded, making it difficult to combat Russian influence operations effectively.
1/17
Europe today is repeating the same mistake in information warfare that it made in conventional warfare: we are not dedicating enough resources to counter it. Just as Europe was unprepared to fully support Ukraine and prepare for kinetic warfare against Russia,...
2/17
...we have been neglecting information warfare. Next year, Russia is reportedly set to spend around 3 billion USD on its information operations domestically and abroad, with allies like the CCP, Iran, and North Korea likely following suit.
In today’s #vatniksoup, I’ll introduce an American conservative think tank, The Heritage Foundation (@Heritage). Heritage is best-known for opposing military aid to Ukraine and for their political initiative called Project 2025, a potential blueprint for a Trump presidency.
1/23
Before we begin, I want to justify this soup that focuses heavily on US domestic politics. As a strong supporter of Ukraine, I see Donald Trump as a threat to Ukraine’s existence, and the reasoning for that can be found in this previous soup:
Heritage was founded in 1973, but it took a leading role in conservative politics during the Reagan presidency, whose policies were mostly taken from the foundation’s book series called Mandate for Leadership. Project 2025 is the ninth iteration of this series.
