This is garbage. First, converts such as myself entered the Church through the SSPX/R&R pipeline, and that position sometimes made it easier for us to accept the papal office due to its minimalism in affirming the charisms of the Chair of Peter and the obedience rendered to it.
When confronted by the reality that this position was untenable in the preconciliar era’s magisterial pronouncements, as well as the pious writings of manualists, saints, and theologians, we were confronted with either sedevacantism or Catholic Orthodoxy.
Sedevacantism is ofc false, so that left us with the conclusion that our presuppositions about the post conciliar era were false, requiring us to devote greater attention and study to the Second Vatican Council and post conciliar magisterium.
