Converts from Judaism to Catholicism 🧵 St. Edith Stein was born into an observant Jewish family, but had become an agnostic by her teenage years. After reading the life of Teresa of Ávila, she decided to convert to Catholicism. Years later she became a Discalced Carmelite nun, and lived an incredibly saintly life until her martyrdom by the Nazis in Auschwitz. Her philosophical and spiritual writings continue to nourish millions of Faithful Catholics to this day, and she is a model of courage in our Faith.Image

This is garbage. First, converts such as myself entered the Church through the SSPX/R&R pipeline, and that position sometimes made it easier for us to accept the papal office due to its minimalism in affirming the charisms of the Chair of Peter and the obedience rendered to it. When confronted by the reality that this position was untenable in the preconciliar era’s magisterial pronouncements, as well as the pious writings of manualists, saints, and theologians, we were confronted with either sedevacantism or Catholic Orthodoxy.
